My condolences to the family. I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers for each of you. He was such a kind soul. Mr. Lester and Ms. Jo were my landlords and what a friendship that developed. I miss Ms. Jo and now his posts on Facebook. Now they are reunited.

My memories of Lester are many beginning in the first grade. He made a huge impression on me as he daily, in hot weather, walked up up and down the rows of desks fanning each of his classmates. That act of kindness at such a young age for me became the theme of his life as he was selfless, kind, hard working, thoughtful and a friend to many. We reconnected over the years working together and had a lot of good times and laughs. I will miss his Facebook posts, words of concern in troubled times, love for the Lord that he always had and birthday wishes that he never missed. I’m grateful that I was privileged to have him as a lifetime friend.

Lester was a fine man and a gentle soul.During my term as Mayor I had the honor of getting to know him. At the time we had a serious problem tracking inventory at the city shop. Placed in charge, Lester solved the problem. He was an honest man with a character above reproach. KMI
