of Hot Springs, AR
December 30, 1946 - January 29, 2025
Joe Perry Reeves of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away on January 29, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was 78 years old. After an eight-year battle with dementia, Joe was called Home to be with his Lord and Savior.
Born on December 30, 1946, in Joiner, Arkansas, Joe was the son of Thomas Herman and Minnie Leigh Reeves. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his family was always at the center of his heart. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Bates, Robert, and Billy Reeves, and two sons.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Elizabeth Reeves, and his children: Crystal (Brian) Hedrick, Martha (Lee) Coatney, Rebecca Kincannon, and Eric Kincannon. Joe also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Zachariah Helfrich, Brady Kincannon, Hayleigh Helfrich, Sophia Kincannon, Aubrey Hedrick, and Heather (Landon) Smith, along with two great-grandchildren, Blakelyn and Kash Smith. He is also survived by his brother, Blaine Reeves of West Memphis, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Joe was known for his infectious positivity, often answering "Super Peachy King" when asked how he was doing-especially during his time at St. Joseph's Hospital, where he retired after 32 years of service. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and his daughters often turned to him for help with anything that needed fixing. Joe's kindness, generosity, and joy will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A special thank you goes to The Springs of Park Avenue and Elite Hospice for their compassionate care during Joe's final years.
Funeral services will be held at Lakeshore Heights Baptist Church in Hot Springs on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with Verne Wickliffe officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Hot Springs.
Arrangements are entrusted to Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home in Benton.

My deepest condolences and prayers.
For many years at St. Joseph’s, Joe was the first person I spoke to as I entered the hospital very early most mornings. I would ask him how he was doing just to hear him say: “ Super fine, peachy, keen!”. What a great way to start the day! Another thing would happen in our exchange. I would walk away with an attitude of contentment and thankfulness, because that is what exuded from Joe. He always seemed happy and enjoyed his work. I haven’t seen Joe in a few years, but I think of him often, and for those memories, I am grateful. He lives on!
Sending my condolences to you and your family at this difficult time.
He was such a nice guy. Always happy and fun to work with
Liz so sorry to hear of your loss. Prayers for comfort at this time. Joe always had a positive word and smile for everyone at work.
My dad worked with Joe. I’ve known him most of my life. Prayers for all his family, his wife, his kids, and everyone who knew this great man!!! RIL Joe!!!
I really hated to hear this news and really regret not being able to visit with Joe before he was taken as I know he was taken to a better place. He was a family member of many and always super peachy king to all that knew him. He was very much a husband to his wife and a very devoted father to all his kids. We had quite a few years working together, should say we just grew up together and during that time watched his kids all grow to be the fine young persons they grew up being, I’m sure he was proud of each and everyone of them. I could go on and on talking about the good qualities that Joe had, friends with all, but his family values were what stood up the most. Liz, make sure he goes with a new pair of coveralls. I am really sorry for your family’s loss, for when we talk about memories of St. Joe. Joe, you Liz and your family are always part of our memories
Joe was always a bright light at the hospital greeting everyone he met. My condolences for family and friends.
I worked with Joe at St Joe's for MANY years and can say he was a always a bright spot in my day when I would pass him in the hall , or see him on a stairway. What a special and gentle soul. God bless his family and may they feel the peace of God loving arms at this difficult time. Rest in peace, brother!
Joe and I crossed paths many times at the hospital. He was the " Super, Peachy, King". He had a good heart, and worked hard. He will be missed. Rose Poag, Former Chaplain.
