William ''Bill'' Yates, 72, of Jonesboro passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024. He was born on January 19, 1952 in Memphis to Henry Glover Yates Jr. and Bobbie Lou Yates-Belue. Bill worked in dry cleaning for the family owned businesses for many years. He enjoyed fishing and had a great eye for detail. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Gail Yates; sons, Russell (Liz) Yates and Jason Green; daughters, Christie Weaver and Brandy Green; grandchildren, Jacquelin, Joseph, Mason, Charles, Eamon and Jonathan; sisters, Rita Davison and Beth Yates; as well as a host of family and friends. He is preceded by his parents; brothers, Michael Yates, Tommy Yates and Jimmy Yates and sisters, Carol Yates and Debbie Underwood. gail, rita and beth my thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. i first met billy in july of 1960 when i moved to osceola. billy lived in the house behind our house. billy has been one of the few true friends i ever had since. i can't make the services today but one thing for sure boshell, leroy and i will be there in spirit. rest in peace my friend.
I'm very sorry to hear about the passing of Bill. I remember growing up with Jason Green and going over to his house with Bill and his wife Gail being there. Bill was always such a a nice guy to me and was always a great man. He always was there to crack a good joke too to make us laugh. He will be truly missed. I'll will be keeping your family in my prayers.

Bill was loved and will be so missed by everyone who knew him. We are so Sorry that we can't be with you guys, but Randy is still recovering from his surgery. Just know we are praying that God will comfort and bring peace to each of you as only He can. We love you guys
