With my deepest sympathy to David’s family especially to his brother, Dan. I was very lucky to have been able to meet this very vibrant Chief’s fan and to have had the opportunity to meet his immediate family of loved ones. Dan always spoke so highly of his brother and of some of the times they had together. Dan had a strong brotherly love for David. Rest In Peace David. What a Wonderful person. First met Dave when he was assigned to Industrial Station. In walks this long tall fella with black hair down to his shoulders and a Yankee accent. Most of our crew were from the Geyer Springs Mabelvale area. Right away Rodney Atkinson pinned a nickname on him "Slick"( mine was Worm) everybody had one. Did not take long to get to be friends with him, that's just how he was. Soon our families got to know each other and some of the kids went to school together. Lyle and my son Mike were in same grade, played basketball together. Dave was a great Father, great Friend and a great Mailman. I'll miss his great Christmas cards and "GO CHIEFS". You're in a good place now buddy, no more suffering, no more worries. Put in a good word for us mere mortals,we need it. Love Ya Slick!

I was sorry to learn that Dave had lost his battle with cancer. I know he fought the good fight.

Dave was our Letter Carrier for many years here in St. Charles. He was just a fine man. We were
honored to be invited to that fabulous retirement party.

We will miss his "Special Delivery" Christmas Card this year.

Slick was an old school carrier for sure. I don't know that he ever once complained and was always willing to help out. They don't make many like him anymore. I know that he will be missed by his friends and family and he certainly is missed by his Postal Family. RIP Slick.

Dave was our mailman for many years. He always kept us informed about what was going on in the neighborhood. Even after he retired he came by to visit. Our hearts are broken. Prayers and love to the family.

Dear Linda and family

We were so very sad to learn of Dave’s death in this morning’s paper.

As those of us who were fortunate enough to have Dave as our mail carrier here in St. Charles know, he was an extremely special man. Dave was an essential part of high school graduations, engagements/wedding announcements, and birth announcements. He even kept up with our children and grandchildren after they had moved away.

You have to admit that Dave and Linda threw the BEST retired retirement party ever! So many people attended, and each person had their own special Dave story.

We are happy to know that Dave was able to be enjoy the arrival of his great-grandson, Kaiden, and we trust that Kaiden will get to know his great-grandfather through the years with wonderful “Dave” stories.

I was so sad to learn that Dave had died. He was our mailman in St. Charles for many years and struck up quite a friendship with my husband. I will never forget the touching words he spoke at John's funeral two years ago.

What a marvelous and wonderful man and legacy! He was our mail man for years and my family and I became good friends with him over the years mainly because he was such an open, friendly and giving person. I loved the personal touch he put into all of his relationships, the wonderful update letters and being able to text back and forth with him during this last professional football season. I know there is a God in heaven because he Dave the big KC football championship before he passed. Nothing could have made him happier!

Our hearts are broken from the loss of Dave. He was our mail carrier for years in St. Charles. Dave was such a kind and caring person. After being diagnosed with cancer, he was so positive and we would run into each at St. Vincent Oncology Clinic and we would have a great visit. We miss miss his letters but we will cheer for the Kansas City Chiefs in Dave’s honor. We will miss you, Dave. Sending hugs and prayers to his family. ❤️🙏🏻

I’m at a loss for words. Dave (Slick) was the best carrier I ever met. He was always in a good mood, was a team player and would do anything for anyone. I’m so sorry for your loss. We lost a great person but heaven gained a great angel.

Dear Linda and Sabrina,

I was so sorry to read about Dave. I had continued to pray for you all. As a family, y'all have always been so sweet to me even after I moved. I hope in time it will be a great consolation to you that all of us who lived on Catina Ct and on the route Dave delivered mail in St. Charles Subdivision for so many years, truly hate to hear of this loss. He was greatly loved and admired. He took care of everyone. He really served the Lord in His job (and I know in family and all in every area of his life).
I will continue to pray for all of you. I cannot attend but will be praying not just for now but in days to come. May the Lord comfort and strengthen each of you.

I only briefly worked with Slick but I never knew a carrier held in such high regard as him. He was my parents carrier and they thought the world of him. Heaven now has the biggest Chiefs fan Little Rock ever knew. Condolences to Dave's family, peace be with you all.
