John Wayne Huston, of Omaha, Arkansas, passed away at the age of 72 on Monday, November 7, 2022. He was born on January 2, 1950, to Clyde and Edna Louise Huston, in Omaha, Arkansas.
After John graduated from Omaha High School in 1968, he earned his Arkansas Registered Land Surveyor's License in 1979. He owned and operated Huston Surveying for 43 years. During that time, he established many life-long relationships with realtors, title companies, attorneys, and bankers. He was always happy to share information with his fellow surveyors and was always willing to give his personal time to anyone who requested his help. Prior to owning his own business, John worked on various pipeline survey crews, and for the Saudi Arabian government surveying oil fields in that country.
John and Florence Sanders were married in 1968. They went on to have three children, Gala (Johnny) Williams of Lincoln, Arkansas, Randy (Cara) Huston of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, and Jennifer (Rick) Gross of Omaha, Arkansas.
John was an active member of the New Hope Baptist Church of Omaha. He was also a member of Gideons International and a faithful Christian and devoted family man. John had many interests, but he especially enjoyed his yearly pilgrimage to Colorado with his close hunting friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Edna; and his sisters, Rosie Wilding, Edna Curtis, and Patsy Joann Huston. He is survived by his beloved wife, Florence Huston, of the home; his three children; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services were at the New Hope Baptist Church of Omaha, Arkansas, on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 11:00 am. Visitation was an hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers were Johnny Williams, Randy Huston, Logan Smith, Moises Manjarres, Billy Gross, and Trevor Gross.
John's family would like to express their gratitude to the many doctors, specialists, and professional staff who treated his many illnesses throughout the past year.
We just heard John has traveled to his heavenly home.
He was alway so knowledgeable , helpful, kind and caring .
He had an Excellent character in work and life.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of John’s family. I worked in the Boone County Circuit Clerk’s Office for 22 years and always enjoyed visiting with John when he came in the office. He was so good at surveying and I am sure many young fellows learned a lot from him.ðŸ™ðŸ¼ðŸ™ðŸ¼ðŸ™ðŸ¼

I'm very saddened to hear of John's passing. I met him several years back when I worked for a title company in Harrison. I always looked forward to seeing John come in the office. He was a very sweet man. I am so sorry for the family's loss. Praying for all of his family, friends, fellow surveyors, and all that knew him.
Sad to hear about John's passing. He was a wonderful cousin. The Thompson family will miss John.

I got aquatinted with Mr Huston around 2010. We were Friends immediately. I did work on his vehicles from time to time.
I mentioned to him that I wanted to know where my property lines were, John established and marked the lines for me just as a Friendly Favor.
I was Shocked and very Sorrowed to hear of his Passing.

John played such an important role in our business of selling and closing real estate in this area. John was always someone who was willing to go the extra effort to get the work done. He will be missed tremendously.

I am so saddened to hear of this. John was always coming into the Circuit Clerk’s office where I worked and retired last year. I saw him last year just before I retired. He was always so nice. My condolences to the family and sending prayers of comfort.
