John Wayne Huston, of Omaha, Arkansas, passed away at the age of 72 on Monday, November 7, 2022. He was born on January 2, 1950, to Clyde and Edna Louise Huston, in Omaha, Arkansas.
After John graduated from Omaha High School in 1968, he earned his Arkansas Registered Land Surveyor's License in 1979. He owned and operated Huston Surveying for 43 years. During that time, he established many life-long relationships with realtors, title companies, attorneys, and bankers. He was always happy to share information with his fellow surveyors and was always willing to give his personal time to anyone who requested his help. Prior to owning his own business, John worked on various pipeline survey crews, and for the Saudi Arabian government surveying oil fields in that country.
John and Florence Sanders were married in 1968. They went on to have three children, Gala (Johnny) Williams of Lincoln, Arkansas, Randy (Cara) Huston of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, and Jennifer (Rick) Gross of Omaha, Arkansas.
John was an active member of the New Hope Baptist Church of Omaha. He was also a member of Gideons International and a faithful Christian and devoted family man. John had many interests, but he especially enjoyed his yearly pilgrimage to Colorado with his close hunting friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Edna; and his sisters, Rosie Wilding, Edna Curtis, and Patsy Joann Huston. He is survived by his beloved wife, Florence Huston, of the home; his three children; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services were at the New Hope Baptist Church of Omaha, Arkansas, on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 11:00 am. Visitation was an hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers were Johnny Williams, Randy Huston, Logan Smith, Moises Manjarres, Billy Gross, and Trevor Gross.
John's family would like to express their gratitude to the many doctors, specialists, and professional staff who treated his many illnesses throughout the past year.
