Alice and her family moved from Dayton, Tennessee to Paris, Arkansas in October of 1937, where her father found work in the Paris coal mines. She graduated from Paris High School in 1949. She spent the rest of her life in Paris raising her family and making many friends through church, community and school activities. She worked in hospitals and nursing homes in Paris and the surrounding area and will always be remembered as a caring and compassionate nurse. During the late 1970s, she owned and operated the Logan Theater in Paris to provide Paula and her friends a safe place to hang out.
She was a wonderful Mama, Grandma and GaGa to her family and was their biggest encourager. She instilled the love of reading in her children that has been passed down several generations. She always had good advice to share and lived to make the world around her a better place. Up until a few months ago she knew the daily events that were happening in the world and had good ideas about how to make things better. She was always interested in the lives of her family and friends. She was the matriarch of her family and we will miss her love, strength and prayers.
She is survived by her two daughters, Paula Parks Barnhill (Butch) of Paris, AR and Patti Parks Whitson (Jim) of Batesville, AR and one son, Bob Parks (Sherrie) of Paris, AR.
