of West Memphis, AR
March 28, 1944 - January 11, 2021
There are very few men in this world like Charles Cox. If you ask anyone who knew him, you would no doubt hear only great things. And on January 11, 2021, he was welcomed home into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Alec Cox and Lela Cox.
Charles definitely left an impact on anyone he came in contact with.
Those who were left behind to cherish his legacy are his loving wife and best friend for 56 years and 11 months, Shirley Davis Cox; his brother, A.D. Cox; his sons, Brian Cox (Robin), Dan Cox (Kendra) and Greg Cox (Jill); his grandchildren, who were his crowning jewels, Daniel Cox (Kayla), Cameron Cox, Cassidy Cox, Camden Bradshaw, Andrew Cox, Nathan Cox, Thomas Cox; as well as great grandchild, Bridget Cox. He also leaves a host of extended family and friends.
Among his many talents, Charles was an avid hunter. He loved spending time on the lake chasing the ''one that got away.''
He loved to garden, or simply sit back with a favorite book in a comfy chair.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, and amazing grandfather . . . and boy did he love his grandchildren.
He was a devout member of First Assembly of God in West Memphis, Arkansas, and his faith was a big part of his life.
You could search the world over, and you'd never find a giant of a man quite like Charles.
He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.
It is Roller-Citizens Funeral Home's great honor to pay tribute to Charles' life.
Roller-Citizens Funeral Home will be following guidelines issued by the local Department of Health and the CDC regarding COVID-19. Social distancing of at least six feet is recommended for outdoor services and all funeral attendees are requested to wear masks.

I have a lot of childhood memories with Uncle Charles. Fishing, frogging, hunting or just hanging out telling stories. I will miss you and see you again someday. Godspeed ...
Shirley, I am so sorry to hear about Charles. I always enjoyed hearing his fishing "tales" while we were next door neighbors. He will surely be missed by you and the rest of your family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Butch
Shirley and Family we were saddened to hear of Charles passing. Enjoyed your pics of family and activities. We are praying for you.
Shirley & family, Charles was a special man and a special friend during our brief time in West Memphis. Some of my very best memories of those days are those times we went fishing together. Rare was the time we didn’t come home with a full stringer of fish. I will always remember him as one of a kind. A very special man! Our prayers as you continue the journey without him. God be with you!
I will never forget the time he and some of the other men of the church we attended, took us to a camp over and he cooked breakfast. He showed me the secret of over easy eggs, bacon grease. It makes everything better he said. So glad that I had the privilege of knowing this great man of God. Love you family.
We will miss Charles, he was a good friend. My condolences Shirley to you and all your family
Right now my biggest thought — apart from the sadness — is how blessed my Daddy was to be a part of Mr Charles’ life. His influence on my Daddy was enormous and I will forever be thankful. I can just imagine them two together right now in heaven.
I hope that our Lord brings you and your family the much-needed peace during this sad time. My condolences to you and your family.
I am saddened at his loss. He was a great man who lived his life for the lord. I pray for all his family and will miss him even though I didn’t see him enough. Bless you all.
Dear Shirley,
I am so shocked and saddened to hear of Charlie’s passing. I know you must be devastated. Charlie was always one of the good guys . . . I think I knew him from third grade on. It is hard to believe so much time has passed since I picture us all as still seventeen/eighteen years old.
Thinking of you at this very sad time,
Barbara
Papa Charles as my kids used to call him was the most precious man with a heart of gold! He loved his Lord, his wife/family and the church. They broke the mold when Charles was created—-a true gem and will be surely missed. Prayers for Miss Shirley and his sweet family.
