Danny P. Goodwin, 70, of Mayflower, AR, went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 16, 2020. He was born September 19, 1949 to Wilford Goodwin and Betty Jo McDonald in Griffithville, AR. Danny was preceded in death by a step daughter, Alicia Franklin and his parents.
Danny served in The United States Navy during the Viet Nam Conflict. He attended the University of Central Arkansas, earning 2 Bachelor's degrees and at Memphis State University, earning a Master's Degree. Danny spent 30 years, as a Groundwater Hydrologist providing assistance to all 50 states and projects in Guam and China.
He lived life at full throttle , made his own luck, and was always humble, kind and respectful. Danny loved to climb mountains and his favorite passion was caving.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Becky Goodwin, stepson, John Franklin, sisters, Roseanna Howell, Tanya (Michael) Burdine, Lisa (Clay) Agre and Molly (R.G.) Coker, and his brother, Robin Ellenburg. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday August 20, 2020 at 10:00AM at Roller McNutt Funeral Home, Conway, AR. Burial will follow privately at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, AR.
Roller McNutt Funeral Homes are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funerals and visitations to 100 people at one time. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.

I consider it such a joy & privilege to have been able to meet Mr Catfish, to see his amazing photos, and here his stories!!! Such a blessing to me!! Thank you for allowing us to care for him. You are certainly in my thoughts & prayers!!

Danny is on of the sweetest men I have ever gotten the pleasure to meet. Loved talking to him on the phone. I know he saved you Becky when you needed it the most. His love for you & family was pure. My heart hurts for you & I will always be here for you Beck! He gave a good fight & earned his wings. I love you sister.
