I'm was so sorry to hear about John. I have really gotten to know him over the past couple of months and he was so funny and joking on Saturday night. My heart breaks for you and your family. Praying for peace and comfort as only God can give.
Remembering what a wealth of kindness and knowledge he bestowed upon so many of us! Truly one of the grandest souls I've ever been Blessed to know. We will truly miss this pioneer in our field and friend to our society! Sincerest thoughts and prayers to Mariella and family.
May the God of Tender Mercies (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) comfort family and friends of John. When the last enemy death (1 Corinthians 15:26) strikes grief may be great. God Almighty gives HOPE and PROMISE. All those in the memorial tombs will hear Jesus’ voice and COME OUT (John 5: 28,29). God will wipe OUT every tear from their eyes and Death will be NO MORE. Revelation 21:4. Please accept my sincere condolences.
I was saddened to learn of John's passing. I always respected John for his on-going commitment to professionalizing the substance abuse field. John's willingness to share his wisdom, talents, energy, and time provided an excellent role model for others in the field. My condolences to Mariella and his family members. In this time of grief, may the love and caring of family and friends bring comfort to your hearts.

John & I have been "family" for 36 years. He was a wonderful man who was loved by many. I will always have many fond memories of him and loved his dry sense of humor. He was a wonderful father to our son, Mason, and a loving, kind person who loved the church and his teaching profession. My condolences to his sweet, caring wife, Mariella, and all of his wonderful children; Marjorie, Rebecca, John, Andy, and Mason.
My deepest condolences to Mariella and Johnnie's sons and daughters. I remember him as someone deeply attached to others, his extended family especially. I appreciate the time he spent with Barbara and myself most of all.

I was blessed to know Mr John. He could always make me laugh! He is the reason I love being a therapist. I have so many good memories with him. I loved how he always wanted to be a gentleman and stand when I was walking out of the front door. I could tell he wanted to walk me out, but knew I’d yell at him for trying something crazy like that. :) I love y’all like my own family. Thank you for making me feel loved and welcome in your home.
Mariella and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I know there are no words at a time like this. Keeping all of you in our thoughts.
