Robert Walker, age 90, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Friday, April 22, 2016, in Mountain Home. He was born August 27, 1925 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Robert was a Marine during World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater and then with the occupation forces in China at the end of the war. He was a systems analyst who worked in banking, and with California's school system. He was particularly proud of the work he did in the aerospace industry with Boeing Corporation. He was literally a rocket scientist. He retired to Mountain Home over 20 years ago, building a house near the golf course because he enjoyed the game. He and his wife also enjoyed travelling and made the South Pacific their destination.
Robert is survived by two daughters, Jean and Janet Walker, both of Mountain Home, a granddaughter, Wendy Marquez, two great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law and niece, Linda Lincoln of Mountain Home. He was preceded in death by his mother and his wife of 67years, Betty Lou.

I have never met Mr. Walker but I have experienced the loss of loved ones so I can truly sympathize with the family. Mr. Walker's long life can be described by what the Bible calls special mightiness (Psalm 90:10). What a privilege to have had him for so long and the many memories he left for you to cherish and to comfort you, especially when you reflect on his life of dedication to his career. It was not God's purpose for us to have a short walk with him - from the cradle to the grave. He wants us to walk with him for eternity and for that reason he will restore life to those who have died (Isaiah 26:19). I derive a lot of comfort from such promise. God will fulfill his promise of the meek inheriting the earth by resurrecting the dead. When he makes all things new by creating new heavens and new earth there will be no more dying, sorrow or pain (Revelation 21:3-5). A grand reunion awaits us when we are reunited with those we love who fell asleep in death and we all have the opportunity of living eternally. May you allow God to help you heal as you meditate on his promises and pour your hearts out to him in prayer (2 Samuel 22:7).
