Burl R. Crafton, died December 22, 2004 at his home, at the age of 93 years, three months, 22 days. He was born August 27, 1911 in Quitman, a son of the late Linnie D. and Dovie Tarver Crafton. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Vida Rowlett Crafton, a grandson, Keith Harrell Mauldin, a daughter, Hellen Crafton Zellner, a son, James Rowlett Crafton, four sisters, Celia Gentry, Lorena Fureigh, Bessie Sims, Ruth Loyd, and two brothers, Ray Crafton and David Crafton.

He was a farmer and owner of Crafton's Grocery and Station in Greenbrier. He was a school board member of Guy Perkins School for a number of years, a church board member at Greenbrier United Methodist Church were he had been a member for 47 years. He was a member and board member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Quitman, the church he grew up in and a member for many years. He served as a committee member for the City of Greenbrier.

He is survived by two daughters, Patsy Mauldin Smith of Conway and friend Gerald Barnes of Bigelow, Virginia Lewis and husband, Jim of Benton, LA; five granddaughters, Beth Heffren Garris Spradlin, Lena Lewis White and husband, David, Sondra Lewis Tikker of Benton, LA, Debi Zellner Tacker and husband, Tim of Greenbrier, Kim Zellner Standridge Ward and husband, Trevor of Conway; one grandson, Steven Zellner and wife Misty of Malvern; four great-grandsons, Rustin Standridge and Noah Ward of Conway, Jason Heffren of Shreveport, LA, Austin White of Benton, LA; seven great-granddaughters, Lauren Garris, Jennifer Garris, Megan Lewis, Haley White, Hannah White all of Benton, LA, and Laken Zellner of Malvern and Terryn Tikker of Benton, LA; and two great great-granddaughters, Kyleigh Moore and Kadence Lewis of Benton, LA; one great great-grandson, Braden Zellner of Malvern; two sisters, Alice Brinkley of Quitman and Louise Tarkington of North Little Rock; several nieces and nephews. He has left behind many friends and relatives. He will be sadly missed but heavens gain. To know him was to love him.

Visitation will be Sunday (Dec. 26) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier. Funeral services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Greenbrier United Methodist Church with burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Steven Zellner, Rustin Standridge, Trevor Ward, Tim Tacker, David White, and Jason Heffren. Honorary pallbearers are Billy and Hershel Wilson and all the men of Greenbrier United Methodist Church.
