Bobby Joe Dycus

Bobby Joe Dycus, 76, of Jonesboro, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born November 24, 1937 in Mayflower to the late Gallie and Willie Mae Goff Dycus. He was a retired Journeyman carpenter for ASU. Bobby was a member of Jonesboro Worship Center where he was also a former board member. He was instrumental in remodeling the Hemingway Pfeiffer Museum in Piggott. Bobby loved making wooden toys, building furniture and gardening. Most of all, he loved picking his guitar and playing with his grandchildren.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Misty Graddy; a brother, Floyd Dycus and a sister, Mary Ann Baker.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma Householder Dycus; two sons adopted by the heart, Kumail Dehradunwala and Zahid Hussain both of New Jersey; two daughters, Regina (Robert Lloyd) Dycus Graddy and Jill (Chuck) Kary both of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren, Jamie (Robbie) Thomas, Ally (Larry) Jackson, Jennifer Kary, Lillian Kary, Olivia (Daniel) Holland, Robert Kary, David Kary, Jazmin Kary, and Royce Lloyd; two great grandchildren, Emilee Jackson and Ellie Thomas; two sisters, Margaret Sue Phillips of Jacksonville and Clara Francis (Junior) Green of Mayflower; a brother, James Thomas (Mary) Dycus of Mayflower and a special sister-in-law, Shirley Dycus. A special thanks to Daniel Holland for being a special caregiver and the staff of 4 East at NEA for their attention and compassionate care.

Visitation will be 11-1 pm Tuesday at the Jonesboro Worship Center with funeral services beginning at 1 pm with Rev. C.L. Robinson and Rev. Scot Loyd officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park.

Robert Lloyd, Robbie Thomas, Randy Jackson, Daniel Holland, Robert Kary and David Kary will serve as pallbearers. Chuck Kary and Royce Lloyd will serve as honorary pallbearers.
