Elizabeth Betty Koehler

of Sherwood, AR

Elizabeth (Betty) Koehler, 75, of Sherwood, passed away on august 2, 2009. Betty was born in Little Rock on August 7, 1933.

Betty graduated from Little Rock High School in 1949. After graduation, she entered the St. Vincent School of Nursing and received her RN degree in 1953. After several years of working for St. Vincent Hospital, she started her career with the Arkansas State Health Department. She retired in August of 2007 after 30 years of service. Betty was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of North Little Rock and the Fellowship Sunday School class.

Betty was preceded in death by one son Kirk William Koehler, one sister, Sara Reinmiller and her parents Mr. and Mrs. James Morehead.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Julius C. Koehler, two sons, Kreth J. Koehler of Sherwood and Kerry J. Koehler and his wife Tiffini of North Little Rock, and one grandson, Colton. She is also survived by one step-daughter, Regina Ann Benezue of Little Rock, and two step-sons, Larry Koehler and wife, Melody of Little Rock, and Julius C. Koehler, II and wife Jane of Conway, and many step-grandchildren. Betty also leaves behind one sister, Ann Wagner and husband, Ray of Little Rock, and one brother, Jimmy Morehead and wife, Jeanette of Benton, along with many nieces and nephews.

Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that enjoyed butterflies, angels, and walks in the woods. She was also a fantastic cook and loved preparing meals for the family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home (501-791-7400).

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church, 6701 John F. Kennedy Blvd. North Little Rock, AR 72116 with Dr. Guy Whitney and Reverend Will Choate officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or to a favorite charity.
