Mrs. Carol Regina (Smith) Burdyshaw, 77, of Jonesboro, AR, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro. She was born on December 30, 1947, in Jonesboro, AR, to Hubert and Wilena (Bryant) Smith of Bono. Carol proudly served the Westside school district for 39 years as a bus driver. She absolutely loved kids. She was a homemaker, and a help to her farmer husband. Her favorite pastime was mowing and tending her yard.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Wilena Smith of Bono; her brother Herschel Smith of Bono; sisters Patsy Puckett of Bono and Diann Gargaro of Bono; and by her husband of 37 years, Rufus Wayne Burdyshaw of Jonesboro.
Those left behind to cherish the memories of her include a daughter Annette (Justin) Holder; a son Bryce Burdyshaw; 2 grandsons Taylor Burdyshaw of Bono and Cameron Holder of Jonesboro; a brother Ewel Dwight (Connie) Smith of Oklahoma; and many friends, family, neighbors, and loved ones.
A funeral service will be held at Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home (1900 W. Washington Ave. Jonesboro, AR 72401) on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 2pm with Gary Cremeens officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will precede the service beginning at 1pm.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Taylor Burdyshaw, David Gargaro, Troy Snell, Ken Miller, Randy McDole, and Gary Davis.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Carol's memory to the St. Bernards Outpatient Dialysis Clinic.
Arrangements are under the care of Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home.
I never remember seeing Carol without a beautiful smile.
May God give her family peace and comfort that surpasses all human understanding.
