Norman C. Freel, 74, of Melbourne, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025. He was born to the late Edward William and Edith Adelle (Call) Freel on April 21, 1950 in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Norman was the eldest of three brothers.

Norman attended the Twin Creek Church of Christ located in Boswell, Arkansas. He served his country in the Army and later entered into the Army Reserves National Guard.

Norman was a horticulturist and worked at Cypress Gardens, Florida for twenty five years. From the time he was young he had knowledge of plants, orchids and you name it, he knew it or he would research it. He loved his job and would travel for the park to various countries and attended many plant and flower shows. He lived in Waverly until 2008, where he owned a twenty acre tree farm. Norman grew live oaks, laurel oaks, magnolias and a variety of other trees. He landscaped many properties and planted large trees.

Norman bought property in Arkansas around Mountain View and finally settled in Boswell with his wife and five dogs. He was a sawyer, owned a sawmill and loved cutting lumber. Norman loved fishing and liked nothing better than having a fishing pole in his hand. He was an avid catch and release man. Norman will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Freel; step-son, Mike Andrew; step-daughter, Tracy Haith; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and special friends, Jack Martin, Tres Miller and Dave Lawson.
