of Vilonia, AR

June 10, 1938 - March 26, 2025

Lawrence ''Larry'' Dare Romaine, 86, of Vilonia, Arkansas went to be with the Lord, March 26, 2025. He was born June 10, 1938 in Oakland, California to Theodore and Ruth Romaine.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Ruth; his wife of 60 years, June Romaine; his brother, Ted Romaine and great granddaughter, Kora.
Larry dedicated many years of his life to scouting and cherished the many lasting relationships that grew out of that service. He was a lover of the outdoors, camping and campfire cooking. We should all hope to experience the depth of friendship he found in Tony Yandel.
Left to cherish his memory are his four children: son, Larry Romaine; daughter, Nancy Dewitt (Terry Dewitt); son, Todd Romaine (Wendy Romaine) and daughter, Shelly Sturtz (Gary Sturtz); ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28th from 6-8 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be held at United Fellowship Church in El Paso, Arkansas on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.

I worked with Larry at Acxiom for several years and that man used to pull all nighters with us when there were problems. Never complained. Just got it done. I haven't seen Larry in decades but I always had tremendous respect for the man he was and hope to see him again some day.

He's one of the good people I've met in life!

I've lost my "echo" and fellow Scoutmaster but I've gained a friend on the other side of Jordan. Keep the coffee pot warm, I'll not be too long.
To Larry's family, I know it's hard, but your loved one is with his Lord and loved ones who preceeded him. My prayers are with you.

You exemplified the Scout Oath and the Scout Law more than anyone. You also inspired some of my earliest interest in computers. Thank you for everything. -Bob

Larry, we have been good friends since 1976. Our friendship has meant so much to me. All these years we have never had a cross word. Our love for our families and the discussions we’ve had about the problems and the joy in raising our kids was such a pleasure. Larry you were always pleasant, never using a foul word, no gossip, never a lie. I will miss you Larry until the day that I too, pass away.

Mr. Romaine, you remain one of the most influential people in my life. Your gentle but firm guidance was second only to your sense of humor and fun. Thanks for being there for so many of us kids.

What a blessing this caring man was to many lives. As a parent of an Eagle Scout I'm grateful for his mentorship to our son, not just in outdoors preparedness but also in preparing him to be responsible in life & to others.

Larry Romaine, you made a huge impact on my life through Boy Scouts. I made Eagle Scout because of your influence. I carry life lessons to this day because of you. I believe with all my heart the Lord Jesus said to you, “Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord.” I look forward to seeing you again in the presence of the Lord.
