Gregory Meng

of Mountain Home, AR

November 21, 1951 - March 20, 2025

Greg Meng is survived by his wife, Donna; two daughters, Heather Meng of Laurence, Kansas, Claudia (Aaron) McCormack of Roeland Park, Kansas and Rusty Billberry of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Two sisters, Linda (Roger) Loewen of Wichita, Kansas and Jude (Joe) Johnsey of Mountain Home, Arkansas; Brother in law, Rob (Marlene) Gard of Parkton, South Dakota; Three Grandchildren, Ryen, Mazie and Sam; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that called him family, and of course his fuzzy friend, Toby.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Martha Lee Meng; One sister, MaryGayle Gard and two brothers, Marc (Doc) and Mike Meng

Greg graduated in 1969 from Ingalls High School in Kansas. He then graduated in 1973 from St. Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City, Kansas with a degree in math and physics. He was a math teacher and a girl's football and basketball coach in Bucklin, Kansas. He also taught in Holly, Colorado and Kenneth Henderson Garden City.

During these years he farmed the family wheat farm, owned a flooring store and later became a claims adjuster for GAB Robins. In all of his working years his favorite occupation was owner of Hickory Hills Resort in Gamaliel, Arkansas.

Greg was an avid sports person and golfing was a major part of his life, which he perfected and loved. In his later years he replaced it with fishing, as it was easier on the back. Fortunately enough, fishing was something he was lucky enough to do nearly every day for 14 years.

Greg loved his family and friends and one of his greatest assets was his ability to make people smile and laugh. We will always remember and love his humor and wit.

Inurnment will be Saturday, March 29th at 9:00 am at Baxter Memorial Gardens and a Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 at The First United Methodist Church with Reverend John Flemming officiating

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

I was sorry to hear about the loss of Greg.
He was a great friend and neighbor in Garden City and also a fun golfing, fishing and camping partner. We had great times taking our daughters camping together. My thoughts and prayers are with Heather, Claudia and Donna. Greg will be missed
