Peat Hudson, 93, of Elaine, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on Friday, September 18, 1931 in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas to the late Arvie Hudson and Myrtle Hickson. Peat was a commercial fisherman for over 55 years. When he wasn't on the water, he enjoyed playing poker and going to the casinos, especially Horseshoe Casino. He was also a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Mellwood, Arkansas.
He is survived by his two sons, Sam Hudson of Elaine, Arkansas and Gene Hudson (Jennifer) of West Helena, Arkansas; two daughters, JoAnn Carroll of Conway, Arkansas and Teresa Kaye Morelock (Sidney) of Boaz, Alabama; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arvie Hudson and Myrtle Hickson; wife of over 20 years, Betty Hudson; two brothers, R.C. ''Son'' Hudson and Tony Hudson; two sisters, Myrte Lee Crawford and Alneca Caldwell and one grandson, Ray James.
Pallbearers will be Gary Hudson, James David ''Stumpy'' Hudson; Darrell Alsup, Bobby ''Bo'' Alsup, Darrell Alsup, II and Ronnie Byrd.
A funeral service for Peat Hudson will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel in West Helena, Arkansas. A visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday March 18, 2025 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Nathan Gorman will officiate. Interment will follow at Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City, Arkansas.
