of Perryville, AR
July 20, 1932 - February 12, 2025
Opal Miller-Boshears (Mamoo), went to be with the Lord on February 12, 2025. She was 92 years old and counted herself blessed that she lived surrounded by her family and saw many of them daily.
Opal was born on July 20, 1932 in Scott, Arkansas to Henry and Hattie Miller. She was the sixth of seven children born to them and the last to join them in Heaven. The family farmed, growing cotton for years and it was said that Opal could pick so much cotton that her brothers would have to carry her sack to be weighed.
Opal was the consummate homemaker, who made her home warm and inviting to all. She always had something cooking on her stove and no matter the situation there was always plenty to feed all who sat at her table. She loved reading, sewing, gardening, canning and cooking. Opal served as the bookkeeper for the family construction business for over 50 years that not only built homes for others, but allowed her and husband, Carl to build a home that was always open to family and friends.
Opal's name became ''Mamoo'' after her first grandchild was born and quickly became the name that most people called her. She had the gift of never meeting a stranger and became ''Mamoo'' to generations of family, friends, bank tellers and cashiers. "Mamoo'' became a name synonymous with love for all who met her.
Opal is preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her parents; all of her siblings; her grandson, Jesse Boshears; stepson, Danny Boshears; an infant son and her son-in-law, Tom Kelley.
She is survived by her children, Carla Kelley, Glenn Boshears, Charla Edwards (Gary), Shane Boshears (Nikki), Sandra Epperson (Gary) and Debbie Boshears; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren and a multitude of great friends and others whom adopted her as their ''Mamoo''.
Opal attended the Perryville United Methodist Church and dearly loved her church family, who supported her through several of life's challenges.
Opal was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend and a ''Mamoo''. Even though Opal has left this earth for Heaven, the void in our hearts will forever be filled by the love we felt from ''Mamoo''!
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Perryville United Methodist Church and by a reception in the Connection Center.
Memorials can be made to the Perryville United Methodist Church.

I’m so sorry for your loss! We met her a few times (not always under good circumstances) and it was easy to see that she was a precious, loving Mamoo. We pray that you will all receive comfort from the same wonderful God she served.
To the Boshears family, sending prayers.
I am praying for strength and encouragement during this difficult time. So blessed to have met sweet Mamoo.
