Earl Guynn Cherry, age 77 of Conway, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday February 4, 2025. He was born in Texarkana, Texas to Javan and Jessie Cherry on November 5, 1947.
Earl is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pamela Irene Cherry; his sons, Cliffton Cherry and spouse, Shawn Key of BellaVista, AR and Christopher Cherry of Conway, AR. Sisters, Margaret Adcock and Mary Rudloff; grandchildren, Tyler Cherry-Key of BellaVista, AR, Devin Cherry of Odessa, TX, Jacob Cherry of Medford, OR, Elizabeth Cherry of Odessa, TX and Peyton Cherry of Glene Water, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Javan Clifton Cherry and Jessie Jeanettie Cherry; brothers, Jessie Cherry and Randy Cherry, and sister, Elizabeth Crownover.
Earl's work-career in Odessa Texas began with his first full-time job with his dad, Pete Cherry, doing mechanical work at Whites Trucking. From there he was drafted. He completed his infantry training at Fort Polk, Louisiana from January 29, 1968, to March 22, 1968. He served for 2 years as a mechanic in Fort Ruker in Alabama. He then completed 4 more years in the reserve. He was Honorably Discharged January 1st. 1974.
He then worked for Sewel Ford, then Qualls Truck & Auto, followed by field engine and compressor mechanic for Waukesha, then went to work for Wharton Drilling taking care of all mechanical equipment. Then finished up with Cameron doing field engine/compressor packages, eventually working his way up to Field Supervisor, where he retired.
There will be a funeral service held on Friday, February 7, 2025, starting at 11:00am with a visitation from 10-11:00am at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier, Arkansas.

I was just informed of the passing of my father's brother Earl. Very sorry to hear of this. He sounded like he was a really good man. Kind and well loved.
