Ruby ''Belle'' Vanhoozer, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at her home in Cash, AR. She was born on August 7, 1935 in Egypt, AR to Charles and Eva (McGowan) Simpson. Belle worked as a laborer and caretaker and was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Trannie Vanhoozer; her parents; sons, Richard Merritt, Dean Merritt and Wayne Dobbs; granddaughter, Jennifer Shipman; an infant brother, R.E. Simpson and sisters, Charlotte Simpson, Maryann Simpson, Luciel Rucker and Cora Mae Merritt..
Left to remember Belle are her daughters, Tammie (Brian) Fowler and Virginia Bishop; 13 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Foley and Fay Vanhoozer and many family, friends and loved ones.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home (1900 W Washington Ave. Jonesboro, AR 72401) with Bill Willard officiating. Burial will follow at Cash Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Friday, January 31, 2025 at the funeral home.
Belle's grandsons are honored to serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements are under the care of Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home.
