Winford Wayne Henson, age 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2025 in his home in West Helen, Arkansas. He was born Sunday, September 14, 1941 in Des Arc, Arkansas to the late Joe T. Henson and Odell Henson. Winford attended the Holly Grove School District before proudly serving in the United States Army. He then worked for the Army Corp of Engineers Ensley Unit in Memphis, Tennessee. Winford enjoyed hunting, fishing, skeet shooting, junking and volunteering at the Grace Community Food Pantry. He worshiped at the Church of God of Prophecy and served as a Deacon in the church.
He is survived by his sons, Scott Henson (Donna) of Lexa, Arkansas; honorary son, Stephen Guthrie (Tonya) of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; daughter, Deborah Self of West Helena, Arkansas; honorary daughters, Belinda Patton of West Helena, Arkansas, Sheila Self of McCrea, Arkansas, Michelle Wall (David) of West Plains, Missouri and Denise Evans of Forrest City, Arkansas; grandchildren, Jeremy Henson, Amanda Dailey (Landon), Carla Bryant (Kevin), Zoe Hudson, Randy Harris and John Smith (Lynette); great-grandchildren, Kaleb, William and Kolby Dailey, Drake Robinson and Avery Robinson; sisters, Marion Grigsby, Betty Long, Brenda Henson, Edna Gartman (Danny) and Delsie Wright (Sherman) and brother, Jimmy D. Henson (Glenda).
Winford is preceded in death by his parents, Joe T. Henson and Odell Henson; loving wife of forty-four years, Judy Henson; infant son in Heaven and sisters, Carolyn S. Edwards and Margie Caldwell.
The Pallbearers will be Brice Long, Darrell Henson, Jason Burt, Landon Dailey, Keith Long, Jeremy Henson and Jason Warner.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Purvis, Charles Taylor, Josh Rowland, Dr. Ned Pillow, Reggie Smith, Rickey Smith and Chris New.
A funeral service for Winford Wayne Henson will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025 at Roller-Citizens Chapel in West Helena, Arkansas. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in West Helena, Arkansas. Brother Danny Gartman will officiate.
