Charlotte Ann (Ward) Tencleve, age 78, of Subiaco, Arkansas passed away Saturday, January 11, 2024 in Fort Smith, Arkansas surrounded by her family.
Charlotte was born August 28, 1946 to her parents, Ed and Marie Eckart. She served for more than 30 years as a registered nurse, the majority of which she spent caring for the community at the North Logan County Health Department in Paris. She was a lifelong member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco.
She loved many things - among them were watching her grandkids play sports, spending time with her siblings, going on walks, playing cards and dominos, traveling to the beach, sweet treats and most of all, being the best mom and nana for her family.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of over 30 years, Ed.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie; three sons, Jamie and wife, Michelle of Subiaco, Jarrad and wife, Kerry of Charleston and Jacob and wife, Emily of Fayetteville; a daughter, Susan Thomey of Little Rock; seven grandchildren, Sydney, Brett and wife, Alexis, Lindsey, Jenna, Hannah, Leighton and Lawson; four sisters, Carolyn Lensing and husband, E.H. of Subiaco, Roselyn Layes of Subiaco, Linda Starling of Memphis, TN and Janet Brazzel of Hot Springs; three brothers, Joe Eckart and wife Mary, of Russellville, Greg Eckart and Betty of Charleston, Eddie Eckart and wife, Rhonda of Batesville and dozens of nieces, nephews, friends and other extended family members.
A rosary service will be held at 7:45 pm on Wednesday, January 15th at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 am on Thursday, January 16th at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco, officiated by Fr. William Wewers. Burial will follow at St. Benedict Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Brett Ward, Jay Layes, Clint Layes, Carol Bowden, Gary Barker and Mitch Wewers. Honorary pallbearers are Charlotte's granddaughters, Sydney, Lindsey, Jenna, Hannah, Leighton and Lawson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlotte's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
Charlotte was such a nice person and she had a wonderful family. The community will will miss her.

Condolences to Ronnie and family. I first met Charlotte early in our careers working as Public Health Nurses. She was a kind caring person and the same in her role as a nurse.
I was blessed to have Charlotte as a sister and she will live on in my memories.
