Debbie, I'm so sorry regarding the loss of Roger. I just found out about 20 minutes ago. My brother, Eddie Gilliam went to ASU during the time Roger went to ASU. My very best friend, SAMANTHA (BoBo) Slaughter went to ASU the same time. Roger and a couple other guys would come home with Eddie on weekends. They would all hang out together. This was around 1971 to 1972. I was still in high school but I never forgot Roger. He was a great, happy go lucky, person. My brother, Eddie, had 4 strokes October 4, 2024, and I haven't been on Facebook except to request prayers for my brother. He's still in rehabilitation in Memphis, but when he finishes with his therapy, he will be living my my husband and me. I hate that I missed Roger's services. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May God give you peace and understanding. Again, I'm so sorry for the loss of Roger. I know God gained a super Saint. Bless you.

Roger’s smile and twinkling eyes! Three Manasco and Three Mathews kids (cousins) running through the woods beside Aunt Florence’s house. Wonderfully unsupervised as was normal back then. Any squabbles were settled between us, with Roger in charge. A moment in time with our cousins, but a lifetime of memories. Priceless! I met Debbie and Dylan only once but my heart is broken for your family. Roger’s quiet humility filled a huge space.

Debbie, I have so many memories from our 50+ years friendship. Many certainly include “Roger Dodger.” I met Roger when you met him at ASU. So many years ago. What is most important to me now is our friendship and your knowing that I am here for you. Roger’s spirit is now at peace and whole. I pray your new normal will also be full of love, peace and happiness. I love you, my wonderful friend.

Dearest Debbie, Kristie, Dylan, Chloe,
My heart aches for all of you. Gary and I loved Roger and we love each one of you. Our families entwined even before you kids were born and, for a long time, we all “grew up with each other.”
Losing Roger is losing my brother-in-law. Debbie, you’ve been my sister for well over 50 years and I wish I could rescue you from all your pain, but no one can do that.
Know that Gary and I are praying for God’s mercy and comfort to enfold you through these difficult times. We are here for love and support in any way you need us.

Debbie, Dylan, and Kristie,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Roger was a wonderful man and best friend to my Rick. He was always a joy to be around, when he came to visit us. His positive attitude and sweet spirit are things I remember about him. Everyone who knew Roger loved him, as did I.

He loved his family and had hundreds of pictures on his phone we would go through looking at because I like picture, too. He cherished time with the grandkids and always filled us in on their lives. I know they will miss their granddad.

I take comfort in knowing that Roger is in heaven with his Savior now. Our loss is his gain for sure. What a wonderful legacy of memories he his left behind with us. I pray that God will minister to each of you, providing you with His peace and comfort, and that morning by morning new mercies will you see.
Love,
Gloria Brooks

Debbie & Family

We are so sorry for your loss. Roger was a very close friend to Butch. They grew up together & were fellow classmates. If not for Roger, Butch may never have graduated from high school Roger spent many, many hours helping Butch study so that he could pass. I knew both, you & Roger, because of my brothers, Butch & John Paul, and the bank where I worked. Roger was always so nice. We are really going to miss him. Thoughts & prayers for you all.

Sincerest Condolences,
