Charles H. ''Hoot'' Gibson, 77, of North Little Rock was born September 15,1947 in Corpus Christi, Texas and passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024 in Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis Williams Sr. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Donna Gibson and his children, Christi Gibson-Young (Nathan) of Little Rock, John Gibson of Cabot and Tony Cuneo of North Little Rock; as well as his mother, Billie Jean Williams of England, Arkansas; his siblings, James Ralph (Becky) of Hot Springs, Rena Pate of Almyra, Peggy Stuckey, Patricia Abbate (Joseph) and Ellis Williams, Jr. (Glea) all of England; as well as four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Hoot proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He served in the Vietnam War and was an excellent marksman with the M16. He was an avid fisherman and Hootie Lake in Scott, Arkansas is named in his honor.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 19th at 11:00 a.m. at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Visitation will be at Roller-Owens Funeral Home from 9:00-10:00 a.m. prior to the service on Thursday.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the Little Rock Veterans Hospital SICU for their service to Hoot during his illness.

Donna, I am so sorry. You know mom would be right there. I bet she met him at the gate and asked him a million questions about what all she missed.
Daddy you will be missed everyday. Thank you for always being there and know I am so proud of you! I will always remember our inside jokes and secret handshake. ( I love you too).

My heart breaks with the news of my good friend, Hoot. He was a man who took his friendships with high honors. I am sad at his leaving, but glad that he will be with his brothers-in-arms. May God bring you to peace and know you are leaving much love here. Good bye, my friend.
