Kenny Turner, 85, of Batesville passed away Monday, December 9, 2024.
He was born April 2, 1939 in Batesville, Arkansas, the son of Winnie Armita Hodge and step-father, Verdell Hodge.
Kenny was a member of Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He worked for the local John Deere dealer for 48 years and he loved his job. Kenny loved his family and was a great papaw. He especially loved his grandson and great-grands and attending the great-grand's activities. Kenny loved to laugh and called everyone ''fellar.'' He farmed cattle, loved to run his fox hounds and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Shirley McGaha Turner of the home; daughter-in-law, Belinda Turner of Batesville; one grandchild, Jordan Turner (Jessie); three great-grandchildren, Maverick, Drake and Kayden; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father; son, Nathan Turner; two brothers; one infant brother, Herman Turner and sister, Rita Talley.
Pallbearers are Jordan Turner, Kayden Sarracino, McCoy Bramblett, Frank McGaha, Gary Hodge and Dennis Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Evans, Jerry Foley, Tom Williams and Malcolm Hix.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00am Friday, December 13, 2024 at Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Jones and Dennis Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Wood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made in his honor to Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church.
We are so very sorry to learn of his passing. It was a shock. He was such a kind and caring man. He was a friend to all his customers and much appreciated by them. He and Pat Rose had a lot of great fox hunts with their buddies. Many good memories of Kenny Turner. He leaves with fond memories and we will meet him again.

He was a good man. I always enjoyed hearing my late husband talk about him when doing business at the John Deere store. I am praying for comfort and peace in the coming days.

I always enjoyed taking care of Mr. Turner and his wife at the bank. We would laugh, share stories about family or farming and handle a little business in between. He will be missed. Prayers for the family.

Kenny was a fantastic man and a true Gentleman he always put others before himself - he loved everyone, it was a honor to know him. Kenny always boasted about what a beautiful family he had. I know that you all meant so much to him.
