Carole Joyce Thoman Knight, 90, of Melbourne was born to Everette and Dorothy Thoman on November 7, 1934 in Vandalia, Illinois. She fell asleep in death on November 24, 2024 at her home in Melbourne, Arkansas
She was baptized on August 3, 1950 in New York City and served faithfully with the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses all of her life. On January 31, 1954 she married her husband of 60 years, Jack A. Knight. Together they enjoyed traveling the world and were especially fond of meeting with fellow Jehovah's Witnesses in each country they visited. Over the past 85 years, she delighted in obeying Jesus' command to share the good news of God's Kingdom with everyone she met (Matthew 24:14 and Mathew 6:10), including her neighbors in Izard County. She was privileged to serve, not just in the local congregation, but to support Jack in organizing large conventions for Jehovah's Witnesses and taking part in the building of Kingdom Halls and Assembly Halls all over the States.
She was also known as an excellent record keeper and business woman, working at banks in Chicago and Batesville from a very young age. She worked alongside Jack in many business ventures including insurance, logging, construction, HVAC. Most recently in 1969, they founded Silica Transport in Guion, Arkansas and later Mid-South Bulk Services at West Memphis, Arkansas, both of which are still owned and operated by the Knight family.
Carole took great joy in her role as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, nurturing her family and teaching the children of each generation. Her wisdom and guidance is something treasured by many. She was a generous and hospitable hostess; their home was lively and filled with the chatter and laughter of their guests.
She is survived by her brother, Timothy Thoman; sister, Joanne Klybor; son, Jon Knight and his wife, Leesa of Memphis; daughter, Summer McHalffey and her husband, Ron; son, Jackson Knight and his wife, Marianne; son, James Knight and his wife, LaDonna; daughter, Ember Sisk and husband, Jamie all of Melbourne and son, Joseph Knight of Dunedin, Florida. Other Survivors include ten grandchildren, Jessica Ringle and her husband, Daniel of Bakersfield, California, Jonathan Knight and his wife, Angela of Wallkill, New York; Kaci Apple and her husband, Brandon of Batesville, Arkansas, Jared McHalffey and his wife, Cassidy, Misty Knight, Cheyenne Cairns and her husband, Rowan, Victoria Sisk all of Melbourne, Arkansas; Collin Sisk and his wife, Kylee of Rogers, Arkansas; Ryan Knight and Chloe Knight of Florida and nine great-grandchildren, Esther, Millicent, and Olenna Ringle of Bakersfield, California, Benjamin, Adalyn and Magnolia Apple of Batesville and Sawyer, Charlotte and Teagan Cairns of Melbourne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack and parents, Everette and Dorothy Thoman; sister, Deloris Flager and brothers, William Thoman and Robert Thoman.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Roller-Crouch Funeral Home, Batesville, Arkansas, followed by a graveside service at Marcella Cemetery in Stone County Arkansas.

So very sorry for your family's loss of a beautiful lady. Apart only to see again soon.
We were so sorry to hear about Carole. Our prayers are with the entire family. May Jehovah our God of comfort keep you very close at this sad time and help you to focus on our resurrection hope that is soon to come. ISA 26:19. We love you.
I’m so sorry to hear this news. My heart goes out to all of you. You’re all in my prayers. You’ve been my dear friends since….well, we don’t need to tell our age. You’ve been my dear friends since childhood. I remember my Dad coming up to Melbourne to give talks, and we’d go over to your house afterword's for lunch and spend the whole afternoon. Good memories. Times like this I’m reminded of the words at John 11:34, 35…even though Jesus knew he was about to resurrect his friend Lazarus, he was still overcome with emotion at seeing the pain his friends were suffering and “he groaned within himself and became troubled….and gave way to tears.” Jehovah and Jesus feel our pain. But soon it will be turned into unimaginable joy.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. May our hope strengthen and give you peace. Jehovah is a "God of the living...for they are all living to him"
She is in our Father's memory. Just a short wait for the resurrection.
What a beautiful woman! I’m so sorry for your loss! Prayers for comfort at this difficult time!
I knew sister night when I was just a child. She brought my grandmother into the truth and I think her very much for that and I grieve with you with all of you and your family and know that it won’t be long that we will get to see them again here on the earth through the resurrection.
I am so sorry for your family's loss. Prayers for all of you during this time.
Sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one in death is not easy but Jehovah has provided us with such a wonderful Hope to look forward to when we will see our loved ones again in Paradise. May Jehovah continue to bring you comfort during this difficult time and strength in the days to come.
Sorry for your loss. May Jehovah bring you comfort during your time of grief. We all look forward to a time when we will see our loved ones again in Paradise as promised by our Heavenly Father.
From my first acquaintance with the Knight family ,the qualities of wisdom, grace, and elegance have shown brilliantly in Carol's character. Through the years I come to recognize that the underpinning of her life was found in Galatians 5:22. Pam and I send our love and condolences to the family. Her life has touched so many in a positive way. We will think of her often as we await the resurrection.
She was a beautiful, faithful servant of Jehovah. Soon the tears of loss will be tears of joy. May Jehovah comfort and strengthen you until that day.
“Indeed, he is my rock and my salvation, my secure refuge; I will never be greatly shaken.” Ps 62:2
Love,

The Jehovah is with her and is sitting with her now . My prayers are with you all .
We are so sorry for your loss. Our hope for the future helps ease our pain. Looking forward to seeing her again soon. Maybe Jehovah give you strength and courage until that day.
Through the years Kay and I have always had great respect, appreciation and love for both Jack and Carole. As a young married couple, now over 50 years ago, we benefited from the faithfulness and spiritual outlook of this wonderful couple. Sadly, this wicked system has continued much longer that we expected, and we have lost them in death. But as Psalms 112:6 says, “The righteous will be remember forever.” I keenly look forward to see them in their youth again.
My prayers for comfort are with you all.
Sending love and prayers to the Knight Family.
Such a sweet person. She was Faithful to Jehovah until the end. May her family be comforted by reflecting on the love that she showed for Jehovah and her wonderful family. Love from both of us. Dennis and Jean
