Harold Dean Culwell

of Sherwood, AR

October 11, 1936 - November 21, 2024

Harold Dean Culwell, 88, of Sherwood, Arkansas completed his earthly journey on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Romance, Arkansas on October 11, 1936 to his parents, Ralph C. and Bertha Jewel Hendrickson Culwell. He was a member of Center Street Church of Christ in Beebe, Arkansas for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years at the time of her death, Lillian Earline Finney Culwell; his parents; one brother, Bobbie Gene Culwell and one sister, Alice Reed. He is survived by two daughters, DeAnn (Randy) White, Sherwood; Donna (Steve) Waddle, Lonoke; one son, David (Dee Ann) Culwell, Beebe; seven grandchildren, Shelly Kaye Coates, Emily Ann Warbitton, Blaine Culwell, Emily McLucas, Hannah Newell, Tara February and Mike Waddle; six great-grandchildren, Paisley and Presley Warbitton, Brady Coates, Barbara Iberia, Michaela and Kaitlin February; two great-great grandchildren, Quinn and Coraline Coates; two nieces, Shannon Rosales and Terry Wilhelmi and one nephew, Billy Jack Horton; along with other extended family and many friends. Two years ago, a special friend came into his life as his caregiver and helped DeAnn with the care that Harold needed. Julio Mendoza and Harold developed a wonderful relationship where Harold loved him like a son.

Harold was a man who had to be busy. He could fix everything and did for anyone who needed his help. He could build anything and enjoyed doing that. He wanted to make sure that everyone else was taken care of beginning with his family, especially his wife and children. One of his most favorite things to do was to go fishing with his wife. Harold was known to have a sweet tooth with chocolate pie being probably his most favorite and he did not really care if he ate anything else or not, but he was going to have his dessert, often first.

Services are scheduled to be held on Monday, November 25, 2024 with Visitation at 10:00 AM at the Romance Church of Christ followed by a Graveside Service at 11:00 AM at the Romance Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home of Searcy.
