Travis Glenn DeClue, 75, departed this life on November 19, 2024 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, TN. He was born in Weona, Arkansas on September 4th, 1949 to the late Jerrell and Mima Declue. He is also preceded in death by one brother, Charles DeClue and one sister, Sherrye Scott.
Travis is survived by sons, Danny Ray DeClue of Marion, AR and David DeClue of Forrest City, North Carolina; grandchildren, Adalee Salazar, Michael DeClue and Adam DeClue; sisters, Margarett Bare and Carrie Burrow; brothers, Bobby DeClue, Harless DeClue, Dennis DeClue & Doyle DeClue and many nieces and nephews.
Travis was a veteran in the United States Army where he served four tours in Vietnam in the 1st Cavalry Division (airmobile) known as the Black Knights. He received several service medals including the Vietnam Service Medal w/4 bronze service stars, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and, at the highest level of recognition, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry w/Palm. He earned expert level both as a sharpshooter and in his proficiency utilizing grenades. He served his country well.
Travis loved music. He was an incredible guitarist and vocalist. He had a huge heart. He cared for many and was loved by many.
Visitation will be at 1pm Monday, November 25, 2024, with funeral service following at 2pm at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Pastor Jeff Brown will be officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
