of Conway, AR
September 2, 1934 - November 21, 2024
Peggy Charlene Bailey Francis went home to be with her Lord and Savior in the morning hours of November 21, 2024, in Conway, AR, at the age of 90 with her family at her side. Peggy was born to Erman and Louise Bailey on September 2nd, 1934, and was the eldest of their five children. She resided in Conway her entire life and made a home with her husband, Charlie, and two children. She was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Second only to being a born-again believer, being a mother and grandmother were her greatest joys. Peggy was a devoted and caring mother and grandmother and often cared for her siblings and friends' children just as she did her own.
She was a faithful member of Old Liberty Baptist Church in Conway for 67 years. She served there as church clerk for 44 years and taught both Children's Church and Sunday School intermittently for years. She found great joy in singing hymns with her church family and was blessed with a beautiful and velvety soprano voice that so many loved to hear.
Peggy is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Charlie Francis Jr., her parents, as well as several aunts, uncles, other relatives, and many friends.
She is survived by her children, Kelly Francis of Conway and Shannon (Gary) Blankenship of Springdale, AR; grandchildren, Warren Francis and his daughter Payton, and Kaydra Francis of Conway; Sam (Aislinn) Blankenship and great-grandchildren Eben and Gwyneth of Springdale, AR; Garren (Jackie) Blankenship of Aubrey, TX; daughter-in-love Karen Francis of Conway; siblings, Billie Robins, Annabelle (Georg) Andersen, Bob (Martha) Bailey, Lana (Danny) Lawrence, all of Conway, along with a host of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services will be held at Old Liberty Baptist Church on Saturday, November 23, 2024 with visitation at 1pm and the funeral service will follow at 2pm.
David and I attended Old Liberty while we were in college at CBC. David was youth and music leader for three years and I have very fond memories of Peggy playing the piano. Her faithfulness to attend church and pray for her husbands salvation was outstanding! My sympathies go out to all her family and friends. Heaven just got a little sweeter!
I grew up at Old Liberty Church, Peggy was a wonderful lady. Love and prayers sent to the family.
I extend my sympathy to the family and friends of Mrs. Peggy. I never got to meet her but she was blessed tto have such a nice family during her 90 years.
My prayers go out her family & friends.
Sincerely,
Sandra Pryor
Many years ago I called the city of Conway to get the name of the road where my dad Leon and his brother Bill were buried.I was lucky when Peggy answered the phone. She actually lived on Fern Lane close to the cemetery where they were buried.
I think she was around ten years old,but she remembers her dad trying to comfort my Grandmother.
Rest in peace beautiful Peggy. I love you.
Love and prayers to all. She was a very special lady and a blessing to be around. May God give you strength and peace at this difficult time.
Shannon,
My deepest sympathy and prayers for you and your family in the loss of your mother. I lost mine in 2022 at age 89. It's tough to let them go. Keeping you all in prayer. God Bless. Romans 8:28
