of Maumelle, AR
August 24, 1929 - November 20, 2024
Emma Sue Kirby Grisham, 95, of Maumelle, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
She was born on August 24, 1929 to the late Virgil and Ovie Hallum Kirby. She grew up in Springhill, Arkansas and would ride to church in a wagon pulled with a team of horses. She met the love of her life, Charles, at 16-years-old, singing at Springhill Baptist Church. They wed two years later in 1947 and together raised three daughters in a home built on love and faith. They celebrated 73 years of marriage together and set an example of true love that their family will always cherish. She loved being a wife, mother and homemaker. She was a devoted mother who cherished spending time with her children. Her love for her family was unparalleled and she often expressed this through the time she spent with them, the care she provided and the joy she found in life's simple pleasures. She worked part time at a daycare. She had many friends and was known for her generosity, joyful demeanor and kind heart. Her life was a testament to her unwavering belief in God and her dedication to serving the Lord. She was saved at the age of 15 and was baptized at Lawrence Lake. Sue was a long time member of Park View Baptist Church, which she dearly loved. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Grisham, a brother and a great-granddaughter. Survivors include three daughters, Rita Casey (Leonard), Linda Stone (George) and Charlotte Daniels (Mark Masters). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.
