Milford (Mel) Hollowell, age 83, of Bergman, stood tall as he entered the arms of Jesus on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Mel, the only child of Arvil and Pearl Hollowell, was born on October 23, 1941, in Hindsville, Arkansas.
After graduating from West High School in Wichita, Kansas, and attending two years of college, Mel met and married the love of his life, Peggy Tyree, in June of 1963. Mel was a dedicated foreman for Coleman for over 20 years and later became the shipping superintendent for McKee Baking Company (Little Debbie), where he retired after 23 years of service.
Mel was an outdoorsman, carpenter, musician, Sunday school teacher, deacon, and vehicle trader. He is best known for his role as a devoted husband, father, son, Papa, and faithful follower of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Brandon Hollowell.
He is survived by his beautiful bride of 61 years, Peggy; their children, David (Breanna) Hollowell, Karen (Butch) Malone, and Michael (Jim) Hollowell; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other dear friends and family.
Visitation was Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison, Arkansas.
Funeral service was held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Red Oak Baptist Church, followed by a graveside service at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Gravette, Arkansas.

Dear Hollowell family, Mel was my boss for 4 years at McKee. He was very well respected and the type of guy, what you see is what you got. Lots of funny stories I could tell! Very fair man and Christian. Nothing but fond memories. I know he is rejoicing in heaven.
