Les was my special friend. I was at his home for over a year and I loved his songs, his jokes, 'that old mule, and the stories he told. He loved Jesus and loved going to church. I was glad to take him to my home on Sundays. He always remembered my family. Ronald, Janice, the preacher woman, and the grands He met. Now he s resting in peace
So sorry to hear this. We had some fun times at pickings. Leslie always had a smile on his face. We were friends with his family for many years. Sending our love and prayers

Rest in peace my sweet boy I’ll never forget our time together. GOD knew I needed you when he brought you into my life. What I wouldn’t give to argue with you about there being a shower in here lol. That’s what the paper said. And I know there’s no cat in here. you’ll forever be in my heart joke around with Jesus for me till I get there.
Sorry for your loss family is hard to lose
Always looked forward to seeing Leslie when he was able to come to Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He seemed to enjoy his time there. I, Kay, graduated with Oris. Both men were very special.
We sang gospel songs, he loved to praise the Lord. I enjoyed taking care of Leslie, he will be greatly missed
Sandi & Allen,
I have never met y'all & didn't know about y'all until now. I'm a cousin to Leslie as well. My paternal Grandmother was Celia Sands Welch Lancaster & was a sister to Albert. I would like to talk to y'all if possible to see if we're related or if y'all are related on Leslie's Mother's side. My email is listed above if y'all would like to talk. I check it every week or two. Leslie was such a sweet & kind person & will most definitely be missed. If y'all would rather call me than email, I'm listed in the phone book. I probably won't be able to come to the visitation or funeral as I can't get around too good even though I'm only 53. May God bless y'all.
Dawn Welch Branscum
Prayers for the family.
Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to meet him.
Sincerely,
Gerald
