James A. Williams, 91, of Cord passed away November 16, 2024.

He was born December 2, 1932 in Askew, Mississippi to C.T. ''Tate'' Williams and Edna Frances Rebecca Brown Williams.

Jim was an honorable Christian man and a veteran of the US Navy, where he served during the Korean Conflict. He was a commercial airline pilot for 27 years, during which time he flew for Pacific Airlines, Hughes Air West, Northwest Orient, Republic and Delta Airlines. James owned a Cessna 172, and his favorite commercial airline was a DC-9. After retirement, he was a flight instructor. He was a member of Cord Baptist Church, a Sunday School teacher specializing in the book of Revelations with brother Jeff Childers, and a member of the Band of Brothers. He loved his family, flying, hunting, fishing, horses, and going on trail rides.

Survivors include one son, Randy Williams (Tracy) of Surprise, Arizona; three daughters, Sharon Gage of Cord, Arkansas, Sandra Madden of Forney, Texas, Terrie Williams of Cord, Arkansas; one sister, Lee Kale of Bartlett, Tennessee; ten grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Leta Elizabeth Bigler Williams; two brothers, Clifford and Alfred Williams; one granddaughter, Joy Paulus; two sisters, Margaret and Marie, and one grandson, Kevin James.

Pallbearers are Randy Williams, Kay Michael Osborn, James Gage, Casey Cox, CT Thomas, and Rick Buie.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 10:00am at Cord Baptist Church with Jeff Childers officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.
