Walter Richard (Dickie) Reece, 76, of West Memphis, AR passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024. He was born to Luke Owen Reece and Willie Mae Rogers Reece on December 13, 1947 in West Memphis, AR. Dickie was a devoted husband, father and papaw. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family.

After attending Raymond J Horne School of Drafting and receiving his two year degree he went on to work in that field his whole career. He received a safety award for 2,000,000 hours without incident. He retired from Lurgi/PSI as a Senior Process Piping Designer in 2012.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Betty Harding Reece; two sons, Richard Reece (Cathy) and Christopher Reece; daughter, Lynde Reece; two grandchildren, Evan Reece and Connor Reece; great-grandchildren, Elsie Reece and Levi Reece and two brothers, Steve Reece and Ronnie Reece (Jean).

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jack Reece and Roger Reece and two sisters, Carolyn McCollum and Cindy Howard.

A graveside service will be held at Crittenden Memorial Park 2206 US-64, Marion, AR 72364 on Monday, November 18, 2024 starting at 1:30 pm with burial to follow.

Dickie was a member of Angels Way Baptist Church of Marion, AR.



Services are under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.

Betty,
Thinking of you and remembering what a beautiful life and family you and Dickie shared together. It’s been many years since I’ve seen you but we spent a lot of good times together at Vanderbilt Baptist in early 70’s while our children were young. My mom and dad thought the world of you and Dickie and my mom always told me our family was related on the Harding side. So I’ll be saying a special prayer for you during this difficult time and just know that heaven gained a great man. We will see him again…
