Franklin Lennie Lewis, age 81, of Leslie, Arkansas passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 10th, 2024 at his home. He was born in Dennard, Arkansas on September 21st, 1943 to the late Lennie J. Lewis and Eva Elaine Davis Lewis.
Affectionately known as Frank, he was a beloved Papa, Dad, Uncle and Friend, as well as a cherished member of the community. Frank graduated from Leslie High School in 1961 and later earned a Bachelor's Degree at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. A proud member of Leslie First Baptist Church, he served faithfully as a Deacon since 1979 and oversaw the "Clothes Closet". He dedicated his time to Ozark Christian Ministries, delivering meals to the residents of Searcy County and was a member of the Gideon's International Ministry. Frank had a distinguished career serving as principal at Marshall Elementary School for 29 years before retiring. He then spent 18 years at Simmons Bank.
Left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Amethyst Lewis of Leslie, Jacob Lewis of Leslie, Katherine Rodgers of Conway; Daughter-in-Law, Rebecca Lewis Parks of Leslie; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son, Charles "Chuck" Lewis; Parents, Lennie and Eva Lewis and his brothers, Steven Breedlove and Daniel Breedlove.
Funeral services for Franklin will be 2:00 PM Friday, November 15th, 2024 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Chris Reade officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 till 2:00 PM preceding the service. Burial will be in Dennard Cemetery. Bearers will be Jacob Lewis, Corey Breedlove, Craig Breedlove, Mike Banks, Randy Patterson and Jess Knapp. Honorary bearers will be Denny Gumfory, Dale Breedlove, George Sinclair, Eddie Treece and Willis Lewis. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons International, Marshall Camp, PO Box 1305, Marshall, AR 72650.

So sorry to hear of Mr Lewis ' passing I can remember him from kindergarten at Marshall Elementary School he was a kind quite man. Years later he joined the same Gideon camp I am a member of it was an honor to serve with Mr Lewis. At one meeting I told the group Mr Lewis had no first name it was strictly Mr Lewis as we were taught at grade school and in my mind he is still Mr Lewis

My perspective is that of a young student in the late 60’s and early 70s. Mr Lewis was a kind and thoughtful administrator. Marshall Public education and community service were accelerated under his watchful eye. He was a good steward.
Our nation's education system would be so much better under the leadership of men and women shaped from his legacy. Thank you for being a true community servant.

My condolences to the family mr. Lewis was my elementary principal. I remember him as a very nice man. I’m sure he influenced a lot of people prayers to all the family. I know he will be missed.
