October 18, 1941 - November 2, 2024
Johnny Irby, 83, of Conway went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 2, 2024. He was born on October 18, 1941 in Conway, AR to the late James Paul and Lena Mae Irby.
Johnny married the love of his life, Linda Irby, on August 11, 1961, the couple were married for 63 years. They loved to travel in their motor home and go on mission trips. Johnny also served as a deacon, greeter and a member of the security team for Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Conway. He was also a Gideon and was still giving out Bibles last week. Johnny enjoyed a long career as the purchasing manager at CHDC and loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Lou Davis Irby; daughter, Anita Irby Stephens (Jeff) of Greenbrier AR; grandsons, Ben Stephens (Amy) of Fort Collins CO and Matthew Stephens (Rebecca) of Conway, AR.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Hospice Home Care Staff Cortney, Skye, Bill, Dee, Laken, Ruby, Russell, Cassandra, Rubye, Kenyon, Cam and Dr. Thad Hardin, who all treated Johnny like family. Our goal was to keep him at home and that mission was accomplished with all the support. He passed peacefully at home with his family surrounding him and he is safe in the arms of Jesus. It's not Good-bye Daddy, its until we see you again!
A visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:00am on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, AR. Immediately followed by a graveside service at Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway, AR.

Linda, Anita and family, Linda and I send our deepest sympathies in Johnny's passing. We have such wonderful memories of your family at Antioch and all the wonderful Sunday School activities we had. You have our love and prayers for peace to our God of all hope
Linda, Anita and family, we are so very sorry. We pray for God’s comfort to surround you and may your beautiful memories give you peace.
Johnny Paul was one of the best. A Christian first & a gentleman! We graduated together from Conway High in 1959. When we were kids my family would walk from the College Oaks Addition to his family’s pond (over 4-miles) to swim in their pond. His parents Paul & Lena were also the nicest folks! Praying for Johnny Paul’s family!!
Linda, I am so sorry to hear of Johnny's death. We were best friends in high school but rarely saw each other after I left Conway in early 1960. We went to church together as well as school and enjoyed family outings with our families. I have fond memories of traveling to Kansas City, Mo with Johnny and his parents for FFA Conventions as well as numerous Sunday dinners at his home.
I regret that we were not able to enjoy more time together as adults.
I cherish the memory of our visit at your home a few years ago while I was visiting my family in Conway. May you find comfort in knowing that he live a Godly life and is at peace with That God Who Gave Us Life.
With Kind Personal regards,
Aubrey Martin
Linda and Anita, we love you more than words can say! We are so blessed from the friendship of your family. What a Godly man Johnny always was and we are so thankful for him! We know the loss here is hard but he is healed and with Jesus and we will see him again. Praying for you as you did for us in the loss of Fred and Glenn. Thanking God for the time we had with Johnny and you! He blessed so many.
Linda, Anita and family: I was saddened to read of Johnny’s passing. Prayerfully thinking of you during this great loss. Sending love and hugs to you. Sharing these verses that have been a blessing to me since my Walt passed away in 2020:
Isaiah 41:10 and 13. I know they will be a comfort to you also.
Johnny was such a character and I enjoyed visiting with him at the office over the years. Continued prayers for all the family.
Anita, I am praying for you and your family.
Linda I sure enjoyed visiting with you and Johnny when Steve was going to MOVE THERAPY, he was such a pleasant man, cherish your memories.
Linda and family. I am so sorry for your loss but I am sure Johnny is safe in the arms of our Lord and free from pain. I always have thought a lot of you and Johnny over the years. You were a special couple. God Blessings on you as you make this walk thru life.
So sorry to hear this. I was privileged to know Johnny for many years in working for DHS and DDS and dealing with the CHDC. He was one of the nicest and kindest Christian gentlemen I ever knew. I will pray that you feel God's comfort until that certain reunion we will have in the clouds when we meet the Lord in the air.
In Christ,
Ed

What a great Christian man and truly great friend! Mr. johnny, I’ll miss you my friend but know you are rejoicing at the feet of Jesus!
You treated me like a son and my family especially the kids Anna Claire & Sawyer like your own. Pepsi & Chocolate all the time.
Until we meet again my friend on that peaceful golden shore!
