RONALD J KNOWLES, 86, passed away on September 29, 2024. Ron was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Mary Knowles.
He is survived by sons, Kenneth Knowles of San Clemente, CA; David Knowles (Wendi) of Oklahoma City; granddaughter, Berkley Knowles of Oklahoma City; sisters, Pat Arendt of Orchard Park, NY; Cindy Winegarden (Tom) of The Villages, FL; Marge DaRe (Tony) of Orchard Park, NY and numerous other extended family and special friends living from coast to coast. Ron was born in Buffalo, NY to the late John and Genevieve Knowles. He is a 1956 graduate of St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in Buffalo and in 1960, the University of Buffalo School of Management.
Ron was a Vietnam war era veteran serving with the United States Army (Infantry) Active Reserve. Ron began his career with the Bell System in 1962 at the Western Electric Co. Buffalo Works in Tonawanda, NY. Upon closure of the facility in 1976, Ron transferred to the AT&T-Teletype facility in Little Rock, AR where he served as a Manufacturing Manager until his retirement from AT&T in 1995 with 34 years of service.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30pm Friday, October 11, 2024 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4000 N. Rodney Parham Road, Little Rock. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Alexander, Arkansas.

I worked with Ron at Western Electric in Buffalo until the plant closed. We were best friends with Ron
and Mary for years. Ron was godfather to our oldest son, Sean. We send our deepest sympathy to Kenny and David and your entire family. We will miss him dearly.

I know Janet is cracking jokes with Ron from above. Although I never met your father I know he had a big heart that always welcomed Janet into the family. He will be missed.

Ron was a neighbor and good friend. We both originated from Buffalo, NY and we had a lot in common. He and his wife Mary, I and my wife Gert, used to play pinochle on a monthly basis that also included dinner and drinks. We had a lot of fun. Ron and I grew closer during the last severalf years because of his health issues and the issues associated with aging. He will be missed.
