Cynthia Delene James

of Marion, AR

March 30, 1964 - September 21, 2024

Cynthia Delene James, of Marion, Arkansas, was born on March 30, 1964, to Paul Lester Walker and Florence Middleton Walker. A lifelong resident of West Memphis and Marion, Arkansas, Cyndi built a life rooted in family, faith, and community.

After graduating from high school, Cyndi married her high school sweetheart, Jeff James, and they were married for 33 years. Cyndi worked as a legal assistant for over twenty years at the law firm of Kent Rubens. She later served at Crittenden Regional Hospital before finding her way back to her passion for church service, working at Marion Methodist.

Cyndi was known for her love of family and friends, her joy in traveling, and her pride in watching her grandchildren play sports. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who cherished the simple pleasures of life and the people she loved most.

Cyndi passed away on September 21, 2024. She is survived by her son, Brandon James, and daughter-in-law, Emilee James, of Collierville, Tennessee; her beloved grandchildren, Wyatt and Grayson James; her brother, Richard Walker, and sister-in-law, Amanda Walker; as well as many aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins, and close friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Florence Walker, and her grandparents, George and Bertha Walker, and Alvin and Florence Middleton.

Cyndi's warmth, love, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Please join us in celebrating her life at the Marion Methodist Church on October 4th at 2pm. We ask that you wear color to the celebration to embody the vibrancy of Cyndi's spirit. If you would like to make a donation in her honor, please donate to the Marion Methodist Church.

What a beautiful soul! I hadn’t known Cyndi for very long but our love for the game of pickleball brought us into the same circle. From the moment I met Cyndi, her infectious smile and contagious laughter drew me to her and we quickly became fast friends. She will be dearly missed. My prayers will continue for the days and months ahead for all who knew her.

I love you Cyndi. In my heart, I still can't believe that you are gone. Our world will never be the same. There will always be something lacking in our lives. I will miss your beautiful laugh the most. You are so loved. I will see you again. You know, I have always adored you.
