of Sherwood, AR
December 30, 1948 - September 26, 2024
Joyce Rose Newman Richardson, 75, of Sherwood, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on September 26, 2024 in Little Rock.
Joyce was born in Mabelvale, Arkansas to James and Dorothy Newman on December 30, 1948. She attended Little Rock Central High School and graduated in 1966. Joyce then started a 15 year career in banking, after moving to Tulsa for a couple of years, she returned to Arkansas and became a Realtor. She was a multi-million dollar producer, winning several awards and obtaining the highest credentials in the industry while working for Real Estate Central. Joyce's strong desire to continue to help others then led her to work at Baptist Hospital for 17 years before she retired. Joyce really loved her family, having raised four boys of her own. Joyce really enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren playing games, fishing, or just having fun with them. Joyce also was passionate about antiques, not only as a hobby, but also as a business. Her passion grew into a tremendous wealth of knowledge. For nearly 25 years, Joyce started and ran her own business. It was known as ''Second Hand Rose'' that began as a small rental booth, which later grew into a large antique store that rented out booths to others.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 58 years, James Richardson of Sherwood; her sons, Brian of Bentonville (wife, Tara; grandchildren, Bryce and Brant), Keith and Michael ''Mikey'' of Sherwood and J.D. of Florida (wife, Kelly; grandchildren, Matthew and Mason) and brother, Donny Newman of Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and James Newman and brothers, Stephen and Merrill Newman.
A Memorial Service will be held at Kellogg Valley Baptist Church on October 1, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Paul Rice presiding. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. at the church immediately preceding the Memorial Service. A Private Burial Service will then follow at the Grandview Cemetery in Center Ridge, Arkansas at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by Roller-Owens Funeral Home in North Little Rock. The family requests that flowers be sent to the funeral home.
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Sending love from the Branscum family.
Joyce was very sweet and caring. I was glad to be her friend.
She now is smiling down on us from Heaven where there is no more suffering and she can work with her antiques again.
Condolences to the Family.
