Linda Jean Russell

of Little Rock, AR

December 24, 1948 - September 24, 2024

Linda ''Lyn'' Jean (Williams) Russell, age 75, of Little Rock, Arkansas has left her earthly home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 as she lay peacefully in her home. She was born in Piggott, Arkansas to the late Willard Williams and Dolores Haley Brewer on December 24, 1948.

Lyn is survived by her husband, Thomas Russell; daughter, Haley Lewis (Chad Allen) of North Little Rock, AR; son, Russell Lewis of Cotter, AR; two step-sons, Lincoln Russell (Traci) of Austin, TX and Nicholas Russell (Melissa) of Spicewood, TX; two brothers, Marvin Williams of House Springs, MO and Kenneth Williams of Saint Peters, MO; seven grandchildren, Willow Lewis of Jonesboro, AR, Shalyn Lewis of Piggott, AR, Chalin, Lydia, Ava and Vivian Dunn all of North Little Rock, AR and Reid Russell of Austin, TX and one sister-in-law, Tina Williams (Randy) of Hazelwood, MO. She is preceded in death by her two brothers, Gary and Randy Williams and her beloved bulldog, Ozzy.

Lyn earned her teaching degree from the University of Arkansas and her master's degree as a reading specialist from the University of Central Arkansas. She taught school for 33 years in various public-school districts and taught for 2 years in a private school where she was afforded the opportunity to teach her daughter, Haley, during her second-grade year. After retiring in 2010, she further utilized her great teaching talent by joining Haley in homeschooling her four grandchildren during their elementary years. Lyn was an integral part of her church home where she spent countless hours teaching Sunday School, volunteering, ministering, worshiping and praying. She and Tom spent seven years traveling to wonderful places within the USA and many parts of the world due to his job connections.

Lyn was the epitome of sacrificial love and steadfast faith. Her grandchildren have been her greatest joy as she poured herself into each of them all through the years. She loved being surrounded by family in her home, especially during the holidays. Her love spilled into her family and friends through every single interaction; her dedication and devotion were unmatched. She displayed Christ continuously and shared her love and faith with all she encountered. She never missed an opportunity to pray for anyone in need.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 10am until the noon service at Word Aflame Fellowship, 7800 I-30, Little Rock, AR (501) 565-8344 with Bishop James Lumpkin officiating. A burial will follow at Noble Cemetery in Brookland, AR near Jonesboro at 4 pm.

Flowers should be sent to Word Aflame Church.

We loved Lyn. She was more than a sis in law to me. I considered her the sister that I never had. We shared many fun times and she always enjoyed family times. Lyn will be greatly missed by all. Prayers for my brother, Tom, as he continues in the journey called life. He was a wonderful and dedicated caregiver to Lyn.
