Hilda Jean Gattis, 89, of Ratcliff, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024 in Charleston, Arkansas. She was born on April 20, 1935 in Paris, Arkansas to her parents, Sam and Belva (Brown) Lovelace.
Hilda was a homemaker and a long time member of Roseville Baptist Church where she served as church secretary for over 40 years. She loved to cook, sew, do arts and craft, gardening and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one sister, Pat Jones.
She is survived by her husband of over 71 years, William ''Bill'' Gattis of Ratcliff; two sons, Steven Gattis and wife, Nancy of Ratcliff and Mike Gattis and wife, Susan of Ratcliff; one daughter, Kimberly Peoples and husband, Rusty of Fort Smith; eight grandchildren, Bethany Gattis, Christopher Gattis, Harley Gattis, Morgan Reinhardt, Jonas Gattis, Brandon Bolin, Derek Bolin and Ray Peoples; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Bill VanMeter and Rev. Clyde Vire. Burial will follow in Carpenter Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Brent Gattis, Brian Gattis, Taylor Gattis, Shawn Gattis, Tracy Reames and Paul Holt.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Roseville Baptist Church.
Mike & Kim, I was not aware I am so sorry for your loss! Mrs. Hilda, was one of the best always had a smile & kind words! We know she is at peace in Heaven with her Lord! Love you all, may peace comfort you!

Hilda was one of my.most favorite Paris Kroger customers.
She was always so sweet and we had lots of wonderful conversations as I checked her out at Krogers. What a jewel she was and now sitting at the feet of Jesus
