Barbara Corine Rutter, age 79, of Harrison, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Hospice of the Hills. She was born on January 28, 1945, in Boone County, Arkansas to Thurman T. and Ellen V. (Devore) Harris. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John C. Rutter, and a sister, Mary Benton.

Barbara spent many years taking care of people through her work. She enjoyed music, quilting, knitting and crafting. She also volunteered at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by one son, Shannon Barr of Harrison; one daughter, Shelly Barr of Ozark, Missouri; one sister, Wanda Teague of Harrison; one brother, Ross and his wife, Willie Harris of Oklahoma; a brother-in-law, Charlie Benton of Arkansas City, Kansas; two nephews, Neil and his wife, Cris Teague of Harrison and Greg and his wife, Carman Benton of Arkansas City, Kansas; thirteen grandchildren. and many other family and friends who will dearly miss her.


Graveside service was held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at York Cemetery in Bergman, Arkansas with Bro. Paul Braschler officiating.

Shannon, sometimes these deaths are hard to take. But I have always known you and you are strong when you have to be. You and your dad have always been like family. God bless your family at this time in your life.
