Evalyn Mae DePriest

of Marshall, AR

June 16, 1941 - September 5, 2024

Evalyn Mae DePriest, born June 16, 1941, passed from this life on September 5, 2024 at the age of 83. Evalyn was a devoted woman of Pentecostal faith and was a longtime member of the New Life Tabernacle, where she worshipped for many years until her health began to decline. Her faith in the Lord was unwavering and she found great strength and comfort in her beliefs throughout her life.

Raised in a loving home by her parents, Buel and Leda Freeman who preceded her in death, Evalyn learned the values of love and family early on. On December 18, 1969 she married Lloyd DePriest, with whom she built a life filled with love, faith and family. Evalyn was a dedicated wife and mother, finding her greatest joy in caring for her loved ones. She also worked many years at the Flintrock Shirt Factory, where she formed lasting friendships and took pride in her work.

Evalyn is survived by her husband, Lloyd DePriest of the home; her children, Clifford DePriest, Mark and Tanya Watts, Tarance DePriest, Trisch DePriest and Eric and Jennifer DePriest all of Marshall. She was a devoted grandmother to Sam DePriest, Christine DePriest, Ryan and Kristin Watts, Dylan Watts, Kendrick Campbell, Payton DePriest, Kenzie Wallace, Logan DePriest and Ally DePriest. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Evalyn was also blessed with one precious great-granddaughter, Marley Marie Watts, who was a special joy in her life, bringing light and happiness to her final years.

Evalyn will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love for family and her generous heart. She blessed those around her with her kindness and how she expressed gratitude for the many blessings in her life. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Graveside services for Evalyn will be 2:00 PM Monday, September 9th, 2024 at Canaan Cemetery in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Don Campbell and Bro. Louis Sanders officiating. Bearers will be her grandkids, Sam DePriest, Christine DePriest, Ryan Watts, Dylan Watts, Kendrick Campbell, Payton DePriest, Kenzie Wallace, Logan DePriest and Ally DePriest. Honorary bearer will be her precious great-granddaughter, Marley Watts.
