Peggy Jean Riley, 85, of Jonesboro, AR passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Monette Manor in Monette, AR. She was born April 3, 1939 to Tommy and Lennie (Perry) Gatlin in Montgomery, AL. Peggy worked as a teacher's aide until retirement and will be remembered as loving to dance and do word search puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Fred Riley; her parents; daughter, Gayla Hendrix; sons, Van Cooper and David Cooper; sister, Joyce Miles and brother, TJ Gatlin.
Left to cherish the memory of Peggy are a son, Charles Michael Cooper; daughter, Michelle Simpkins; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Mac Gatlin, Larry Gatlin, Charles Dean Gatlin and Danny Gatlin; sisters, Agnes Gatlin, Thelma Morawski and Brenda Lutrick and many friends, family and loved ones.
