Bonita Joan (Parker) Gandy, 82, a resident of New Blaine, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024 in Charleston, Arkansas.
She was born November 9, 1941 in Paris to the late Clyde and Moreo (Harrison) Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Bill Gandy and a brother, Don Parker.
Bonita was a member of First Baptist Church, Scranton and taught Sunday School for over 50 years, as well as serving as the church financial secretary. She directed many Vacation Bible Schools and attended ''church camps'' as well. She was active in the Women's Ministry Group and annually helped prepare an area wide Senior Citizens Thanksgiving Feast. She was a Tyson farmer and raised chickens before lots of equipment became modernized. In her retirement years she was one of the founding board members of the North Logan County CASA and a very dependable substitute teacher at Paris School District. She was on the North Logan County Fair Board for many years, where she was inducted in their Hall of Fame. Bonita was also a member of the Logan County Extension Homemakers Club, Logan County Cattleman's Association and Women of Farm Bureau.
Survivors include a son, Tony Gandy and wife, Cindy of New Blaine; a daughter, Misty Knoles and husband, Chris of Midway; twin sisters, Vickey Wiggins and husband, Marvin of Paris and Mickey Oates and husband, Rob of New Blaine; three sisters-in-law, Charlotte Parker of New Blaine, Lois Gandy of Lubbock, Texas and Bonnie Burris of Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Brittany Gandy of Kentucky, Amanda Hamilton and husband, Aaron of Paris, Rebecca Elsken of Paris and Christy Brooke and Linzey Knoles both of New Blaine; a great grandson, James Hamilton of Paris and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 2, 2024 at Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Scranton with Rev. Carl Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Horn Cemetery in Midway under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Pallbearers will be Scott Parker, Randy Blaschke, Aaron Hamilton, Spencer Cox, George Harrison and David Corbitt. Marvin Wiggins, Rob Oates, Kirk Oates and Logan Oates will serve as honorary pallbearers.
We are so sorry to hear the news. Bonita was such a great person. She was always our kids favorite when they were going to VBS. May she rest in peace and may God Bless You All!

My prayers go out to the family. I know they loved her so very very much and this is hard. I remember Bonita as my neighbor on Old military Road many many years ago. She impressed me as a kind, caring woman. And I could see the Lord in her.
Bonita leaves this world better for her having been here. She was a blessing to many. The Harrison clan is proud to claim her!

RIP my Dear sweet Aunt Bon, for I know you are free from pain and in the arms of Jesus and Uncle Bill along with everyone in heaven who loves and adores you as the rest of us left behind here on earth. I have a heart, soul and mind full of the most precious memory's of you helping to raise me as a child our talks over the phone through the years, you were an inspiration to me leading me to Jesus, gospel, and the importance of God and his word.
