Our beloved Melinda Michelle ''M&M'' Coates went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 19, 2024, at the age of 11. She was born on November 6, 2012, in Searcy, Arkansas to Vivian Melinda Horton and Michael Wayne Coates.
Though her time here was brief, she leaves behind a profound impact on numerous lives. Ask anyone and they will describe her as beautiful, smart, and incredibly funny. Her laughter was contagious. She had her sassy side as well.
Michelle loved animals, especially cats. Whenever there was a stray around, she tried to keep it. They say dogs are a reliable judge of whether a person is good. If this is true, then Michelle was truly the best. We have never seen our dogs react to anyone the way they did her. She loved
hot chips and as her Papaw said, the hotter they were, the better she liked them. She also loved some fried chicken.
Michelle was saved and baptized at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church where she attended faithfully. She attended Riverview School District where she had just begun the 6th grade.
She is preceded in death by her father, Michael Wayne Coates and her brother Michael Coates.
Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Melinda Horton; her brother, Jeremy Freeman; her maternal grandparents, Robert and Jeannette Freeman; her uncle, Bobby Freeman; two aunts, Pam (Rusty) Wallace and Tammie (Charles) Hiser along with many cousins and friends.
Please join us in Celebrating her life on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church with Visitation at 10:00 AM followed by A Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Those honored to serve as Pallbearers are, Cody Hiser, Devin Wallace, Brandon Brown, Easton Rice, Austin Ausbrooks and Rodney Hannah. All services are under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home of Searcy.
Michelle's favorite Bible verse that she leaves with us goes like this, ''For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.'' John 3:16 KJV

I remember Melinda from last year here at school she was a beautiful soul. She is missed here at school. She was a kind girl.
Even though I only got to know my sweet little cousin a few months ago just in that short time I seen how much she loved animals just like my daughter. Her and Maryssa actually stayed at Michelle's Aunt Fay and Maryssa's Nana they had so much fun together and are so much alike they even look alike to be honest. I am so blessed that we got to get to know her in that short time and how sweet of a girl she was she was so bubbly and loved her animals for sure, she loved learning about her family she kept asking me questions she figured out how we were related I am truly blessed!! Michelle is now with our Lord and savior and how much it hurts with her being so young I still have to say she's in a better place than we are, but that does not mean we do not miss her and we are not mourning her!! She has such a beautiful heart Michelle we love you very much!! You will never be forgotten darling. I pray for my cousins and my aunt and uncle I can't even imagine how they are feeling because they had a lot more time with her and I'm so happy that they did have that time with her I'm so sorry that her life was cut short just know that she is missed by a lot of family members and know that we love each and everyone of you very much. We will see you Monday
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this tragic time. We are continuing to pray for Melinda & the entire family.

I had the privilege of meeting Michelle this summer at the Searcy Swim Center and catch up with her mother that I've known for many years. Michelle was always smiling and having such a fun time swimming with her newly made friends at the pool. She was a beautiful young lady and made such an impression on those around her during her short 11 years here on this side of eternity. Prayers for Melinda, Aunt Pam, Aunt Tammy, and Uncle Bobby and grandparents Robert and Jeanette. I cannot imagine the heart ache you are going through. May God continue to surround you with peace during this difficult time.
