Gary Brian Stingley

of Little Rock, AR

August 23, 1972 - August 16, 2024

Gary ''Brian'' Stingley, 51, of Little Rock passed away August 16, 2024. He was born on August 23, 1972, in West Covina, California, to Earl and Rachel Stingley. Brian married his wife, Robin, on September 9, 2000. He owned an automotive repair shop and mentored a number of technicians throughout his career. He was enthusiastic about music of all genres; loved hiking or kayaking in nature; and enjoyed time with animals of all kinds, but especially his own cats and dogs. His adventurous spirit saw him racing motorcycles in his youth, taking his young nephews to search for bears in the woods, and even planning a skydiving trip with his nephew to celebrate his 52nd birthday. He lived by the motto ''if you're gonna be a bear, be a grizzly''. While he projected this grizzly bear exterior, inside Brian was really a teddy bear who always tried to predict and provide whatever his loved ones needed. He was protective of those who were close to him, generous with his time, and always happy to listen and offer advice. He was a beloved member of his family. We all miss him dearly.

Brian is preceded in death by his father, Earl Stingley; his brother, Earl Anthony Stingley; and his niece, Rachel Irene Russell. He is survived by his wife, Robin Stingley; his mother, Rachel Stingley Bradshaw; his aunt Laura Gene Craig; his sisters, Dawn Saraf, Sherry Martin, and Elizabeth Stingley; his sister-in-law, Becky Lewis; his brothers-in-law, Mike Saraf, and Kenney Lewis, Sr.; his nieces, Cassandra Olivas, Brandy Gardea, Elizabeth Gonzales, Rebecca Stingley, and Kara Lewis; his nephews, Benjamin Gardea; Raymond Manzanares, Maxwell Stone Stingley, Ethan Lewis, and Kenney Lewis, Jr., twelve great-nieces and -nephews, and eight great-great-nieces and -nephews.

In lieu of flowers send memorials in Brian's name to the Humane Society of Pulaski County, 14600 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72210 or charity of your choice.

Robin, you are on my mind and in my prayers during these difficult days. There will be so many adjustments to life without Brian by your side, keep the happy times and good memories near. Sherry

The hardest good-byes are the ones you don't see coming. The ones you don't plan. Or could ever imagine happening. Like one day you're both together. And little do you both know that today will be your last day spent. Sometimes there is nothing sadder than that.

I had the pleasure of being the recipient of just a fraction of the vast knowledge that Brian had repairing all types of vehicles especially German and British imports. I will always be grateful to you for all the help you gave me.

Rest in peace, Great Uncle Brian. Though I did not know him in person, it’s clear the lasting impression he left behind will never fade. From everything I’ve heard and from looking at that sweet photo, I can tell his smile could light up any room.

I never knew you in life Brian, but have always wished I was closer to you and my family out in your parts. My mother tells me we have a lot in common due to our love of animals and especially our sarcastic humor. I’ve always felt close to your brother, my uncle, because I inherited his name and have always wished I would have had something to remember you by in life too, so from this day on I’ll always remember my mutually sarcastic Uncle Brian and live my life proud knowing I carry both a piece of you and Earl around with me.

Robin, I am so sorry for what happened. My heart aches deeply for you, and I cannot imagine the shock and pain you’re going through right now. I wish I could help ease some of that pain for you. I miss hearing your stories about Brian—he was such a kind, fun, and loving husband. Take Care,

Rest in peace uncle Brian. I will never forget you and your sarcastic humor. So many fun memories of you when we were young. Specially the time you told me to make sure I took my Barbie dolls or you were going to use them for target practice. Do me a favor uncle and tell cousin Rachel hello for me. Tell her I dream of her and miss her everyday. Love you both
