Carl Wayne Ferren 86 years young, of Searcy, Arkansas went to his Heavenly home on August 20, 2024. He was born July 26, 1938, in Kensett, Arkansas, to the late Elmer and Elva (McFadden) Ferren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, along with five siblings: Ray (Buddy) Ferren, Marvin Ferren, Dean Ferren, Lela Mae Vire, and Mildred Henderson, one son-in-law Richard Conley, and great grandson Lane Lunday.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Marlene Ferren of the home, four children: Sherry Conley, Denise (Raysel) Bradberry, Ginger (Terry) Coker, and Scotty (Sherry) Ferren all of Searcy: three sisters: Velma (Louis) Reed, Katie (Charles) Hunter, Peggy Mendenhall, and one brother Alvin (Gloria) Ferren: thirteen grandchildren Misty (Jon) Lunday, Candace (Brandon) Jones, Chelsea (Joe) Garner, Morgan (Jordan) Smith, Madison (Ethan) Curtis, Scott (Hailey) Ferren, Tara Ferren, Mendy (Ryan) Smith, Valerie (Chris) Ramsey, Jon (Shanna) Coker, Matthew Bowman, Ashley Coker, and Shane Daniel. He is also survived by thirty-one great grandchildren.

Carl and Marlene resided in Searcy all their married years except for a short time in Cleveland, Ohio, Marlene wanted to come back home. Carl was a longtime contractor in Searcy where he built several homes. He also completed several projects at Searcy First Assembly where he attended most of his adult life. He held several positions including Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and was a dedicated Sunday School Teacher. He studied his lesson continuously and read his Bible from cover-to-cover numerous times often on his knees.

He was known for his no-nonsense approach to life but people who knew him knew where they stood. Underneath his exterior was a wonderful husband, a loving father and a friend in time of need. For those who crossed his path Carl will be missed and has left a hole in their hearts.
